Once again you took me back to a magical time when my late husband and I went to California for the first time together and the desert was in full bloom. You are an adventurous woman.

When I first saw a film of Bessie Smith singing, I was struck to the heart by the power and authenticity that came through in her voice, somehow transcending time and the limits of the recording technology of the '20's. It reached inside me and represented itself with a singular identity that was immediate and present, almost as though we were having a conversation. Your videos capture that same energy of presence and positive spirit, and mysteriously reach through the technology and into the heart. Thank You for sharing your Self with us! It's a beautiful place to be. Lou

My wife and I have discussed going to Vegas and Tahoe. I'm a nature guy, and now I want to explore the mojave desert too. There is something that feeds me when I explore a new city, a placed man made, but there is something more restorative about nature. I suppose you understand that. Thanks for this great video. I'm adding mojave to my to do list!

It is so beautiful to connect with a stranger so intimately that they remember you all those years later and would ask you to represent their family. Beautiful isn't even the right word. There's got to be an even better word. Anyways, very lovely video indeed.

+Angel Serbina George and I have maintained/built a friendship because of Facebook and email. It's so amazing that we can stay connected so easily across continents. To say it was a privelege was an understatement for sure. We were honored in every way ❤️

Wow, for a trip to attend a wedding, ..... in Vegas no less, the video turned out to be a side of that area that I never expected to see. Thank you FP for allowing us to come along. I have so much to say about my reactions to what I saw and how I felt about the city, the general lay of the country, and the desert, that I fear I will take up so much space that others will click off of this page out of boredom. I will try to be quick, but the most important subject I want to touch on is your Friend George! Ironically, I also met a very moving black man who spoke flawless Oxford English miles from home in a small town in southern IL. The time was about 1998 or so and I owned and operated a wildlife art gallery and custom frame shop in Salem, IL and Stanley came into my life in a most unexpected way when he stopped in my gallery to ask directions. We spent only 4 hours together but the impact of this man has lasted with me and will stay with me forever. His name is Stanley Ngasa, he was born and raised in a small village south of Nairobi, Kenya, I think, and he had recently graduated from Oxford University with a PhD in Agricultural Development or something to that effect and 3 lesser degrees in associated agricultural areas. We talked so much in those 4 hours that it was difficult to remember all of the things we covered. I became so engrossed in his conversation that I had customers come in, browse around, and leave and I have no knowledge of them being there! This man was invited to give a graduation speech at Harvard or Yale University, something to do with the general economics of third world countries like Kenya, and someone got the dates mixed up with plane tickets and the speech date and he arrived in the USA 1 week early. His favorite person throughout the history of the United States was Abraham Lincoln and he decided to fly to St. Louis, MO, rent a car and drive across the Mississippi river to see the "Land of Lincoln" and visit "Honest Abe's" supposed "birth site" in New Salem, IL. In fact, Abraham was born in Kentucky and did not move to IL until he was about 21 years old when his family left Indiana and moved to New. Salem or there abouts. It was here where the political future of Abraham Lincoln actually began. My art gallery was located in Salem, IL, a town which is a distance to the South of "New" Salem just south of the intersection of I-70 and I-55, two of the major Interstate highways which exist today across our beautiful land. I explained the mistake in finding the actual birth place of Lincoln to him as many historians refer to IL as the "birthplace of Lincoln" which is totally incorrect. His [Stanley's] background was of much interest to me as he was dirt poor as a child, the village he grew up in was far behind modern times and they were still foraging and gathering roots and other types of food much as their ancestors did. He was determined to help his people move ahead and be able to grown crops and find water in their arid land and he got a grant to attend Oxford and study Agriculture in exchange for some civil volunteer work on the Kenya - Somalia and also the South Sudan borders. Somalia and the Sudan, back in the 80's and still today, were entwined in ongoing civil wars amongst their respective populations and were very dangerous places to be at that time. He had to serve as a volunteer for 1 year training the Kenyan villages on the borders how to find water, bring it to the surface of the ground, funnel it to crops, and make a self sufficient life for themselves, simple knowledge on which the Romans built their Empire but knowledge of which the Kenyan villagers had yet to learn. At the end of his volunteer work, he planned to return to his village and teach his people how to farm and fend for themselves and become self sufficient. I corresponded with Stanley for about 3 years until right before I moved my gallery business down to Florida in 2001. Suddenly, all communications ceased from Stanley and, since I corresponded with him through a POB he had established through the Bank of England when he attended college, I had no direct way to find him. I have heard no word of his whereabouts to this day. I fear that he stayed on near the Sudan to help his people and became involved in the fighting there. Your story of meeting you friend George and the eloquent way you presented it to your readers, brought back so many good memories of Stanley and his devotion to his people, and the links and similar backgrounds between he and I and how he never failed to remember my birthday or Christmas with a little card and note each of the 3 years we corresponded. I still have some English Pound Sterling notes Stanley used to buy small gifts for his family from my art gallery. He was fascinated with the reproduction arrowhead necklaces, made by a flint knapper in Hannibal, MO and he bought enough to give to many of his friends. I gave him an obsidian knife with an elk antler handle and scrimshaw on the sides and end which he was thrilled to own. It was a small token for the time we spent talking about our countries and our backgrounds. I will stop here as this took up way more time to try to condense and I did such a poor job of condensing my "condensed" version that I will wait till later to talk about my impressions of the Mojave area.

Damn its been a long time since I cried.... This wonderful video you did reminds me of some favorite quotes 'After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.' Philip Pullman and 'You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone's soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows what they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift.' Erin Morgenstern, author of The Night Circus

Have you ever had the chance to ride down a sand dune on a waxed board? You have to wax it up really good due to the coarseness of the sand but when you get going it is a blast until the wax wears off then the board just stops. My cousins lived just outside the Mojave we had such fun times exploring that vast desert. Good times..

Dear Corrin, you are an easy person to stay up and talk with all hours of the night. Over the last few years, your films are more enjoyable than a good novel, and offer a return of innocence. Its really just what the world needs now. Your kinship, willingness to learn a new language, taste a new food, make a new friend feel like an old friend, are qualities that you have, and are so endearing. No matter where you go, and who you meet, there is a vivid swap of humanity. In that exchange, all whose lives have been touched, and as far as a good story will reach, there is the energy of connection, with a postscript that says, 'to be continued".... You have collected the gaggle of us, loving us just the way we are, as we love you.

+Goldstar 36 thank you my Love. This trip has been absolutely amazing. Santa Fe blew my mind. I met an art collector who I have a kinship with, they are also an intuitive. Something profound is happening. I have much work to do, but I'm beginning to see the others whom are here with me doing the same. I recognise them, and they recognise me. The take away for me is there is no other choice than to stay connected through my heart. The challenge is inherent but the alternative is unmanageable. I've seen this. This may or may not make any sense but I feel like I just found another light along my path. ❤️
