The judge has to follow sentencing guidelines, which typically give a base sentence then a list of adjustments that must be made for mitigating and aggravating circumstances. You don't have to rely on your feelings, you can read the sentencing handbook for any western country. They are published on the web. I heard about the 'kidnap plot.' Didn't know they intended 'to assassinate' her. If you think about it, kinda makes no sense. If they wanted to kill her, why would they need to 'kidnap' her first? 'Assassination' rarely has to do with kidnappings, unless these people wanted to torture Governor Whitmer, before getting rid of her. I'm not from Michigan, but I like Whitmer doing another term, and staying spry and energetic.
