The idea that “editing” or “getting it in post” is in any way inferior or less genuine to “SOOC” photography is a weird justification for the fact that he dislikes post editing. Whether you front or back load your photographic process is just a choice, not a path to less or more genuine photography. Ansel Adams is famous for his dedicated post work in the dark room. And no one in their right mind would say he was less of a photographer than someone who did minimal post work. Unless you are a documentarian, a photographer creates to his/her vision. EVERYTHING is a manipulation from lens choice, to film stock, to lighting. There is no lesser or greater way to achieve the end product, just preferences.
