I tried using this mod manager and vortex but something keeps wiping the mods I haven't got one mod to work once only the script extender which doesn't need any of those to show up ): I tried a lot of steps from every video and couldn't get it to work

What if I have a generated folder already? Do I combine the folders?

Do i need to start a new game to be able to use the mods? I cant use "Full custom companions" I tried everything... it doesnt work

It depends, the most recent patch may have broke some mods. Usually you don’t have to start a new save to install mods no.
