Nice,You could have driven in the lag bolts using its hex head and before inserting the shelf into it, could have cut of the head. Much easier and better way.
@WatchMeDIYIt6 жыл бұрын
Nice! I did a very similar thing, but I made my own brackets using flat bar and threaded rods, and for the shelf I used 2x8s.
@ArcAiN67 жыл бұрын
Would have been easier to just chuck the lag bolt into the drill, and run it in, then loosen the chick and remove the drill, leaving the lag bolt in place :D
@bronxite4507 жыл бұрын
ArcAiN6 +1 yea and flatten one of the sides so it won't rotate in the drill chuck

Great Video. One of the simplest and easiest floating shelf DIY except for the drill press lol, by chance have you done a weight test. Would you say under 10Lbs or under 20 Lbs, this would help a lot.

A nice little trick to collect dust when drilling the wall is to tape an envelope to the wall by its flap, just beneath the hole. Most, if not all of the dust will fall into the into the envelope.

Hey man great video. How do you like that flexvolt miter saw? I am in the market for one right now for my garage so have been heavily considering the infamous Bosch glide given the low profile...but your setup got me to thinking I could just go mobile and not have to worry about clearance...price is similar too... 2:58

Not a practical build for a DIY. Needing to drill into center edge is difficult if done by hand. I don’t have a drill press

You may be able to just chuck the lag bolt shaft into your drill to drive it into the wall. Nice little project. I just noticed a bunch of other people recommended it so... uh... my suggestion is to do something more clever than that if you do it again... Whatever that may be.
