Your videos are really helpful. I’ve been in VO for several years and your videos are hands down the best at explaining concepts. I’ve watched several of them multiple times.

Great coaching...I mean great video-sharing killer tips and tricks. Question: For the take where you improv words in the read, would you send that as a take two. One of my coaches said a little improv is a good thing.
@djdykes_vo14 сағат бұрын
The short answer is yes, I would trim off all of my improv/lead-ins, etc. unless the casting explicitly asked for improv. However, there are always exceptions and each casting director has their own preference. It's important to know who you're submitting to because while some casting directors like a bit of improv, others don't want it at all. That's why I always recommend listening to podcast interviews with these big casting directors so you can understand what they're looking for in auditions. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with improving and creating your story in the booth - even if it's like 10 minutes of rambles - as long as it gets you where you need to be performance-wise. You can always trim that part off. Hope this helps. -DJ

Would you recommend using Backstage to get roles? I keep getting ads on social media and im curious what your thoughts are.

Hey, I have no direct experience using the Backstage platform so I can’t give an opinion.
