येऽप्यन्यदेवता भक्ता यजन्ते श्रद्धयान्विता: | तेऽपि मामेव कौन्तेय यजन्त्यविधिपूर्वकम् || 9.23 O son of Kunti, even those devotees who respectfully worship other Devatas, they too verily worship Me, but they do that wrongly. स तया श्रद्धया युक्तस्तस्याराधनमीहते | लभते च तत: कामान्मयैव विहितान्हि तान् || 7.22 He worships a Devata respectfully , and obtains what he desires. But verily, those are given by Me अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम् | देवान्देवयजो यान्ति मद्भक्ता यान्ति मामपि || 7.23 But the fruit gained by these people of very small intellect is temporary. Those who worship the Devatas go to them (in afterlife) and those who worship Me, come to Me.

I have experienced sense of meditation on many occasions when I am quietly sitting with my mother. My mother has been doing normal household morning and evening puja in India without fail for last 50 years as far as I remember and she is 82 years old as on date. It depends what we are sensing from the energies around us!!!

This was a very insightful explanation on few Puranic stories. If possible please cover the story of Lord Shiva chopping the head of little Ganesha and replacing it with an elephant head later after mother Parvathi's request. Lot of doubts exist about why Lord Shiva being a father could be so cruel or why it had to be so gory for Ganesha.

The most important goal in meditation is to attain to no-mind Turiya state. It is mentioned in Mahabharata that if one can attain to this state even for the fraction of a second, then a large portion of karma will be burned off. Shakti is the mind so the grace of goddess has to be there to attain to this state. Most enlightened masters who have attained to this state mistakenly believe that they conquered the mind. No one can conquer the mind or Shakti. It is the grace of the goddess. This sentence came to my mind, When the mind is still the universe surrenders.
