Thank you, Gayathriji for presenting such subjects with persons who have credibility. Shri PVRN Rao has a terrific heritage in astrology and the philosophical thoughts of Sanathana Dharma. There are a few points, I wanted to share. 1. First of all, people should practice to withdraw using the word 'soul' for Atman. There is no single English word which can convey the precise meanings of Atman. It is so complex that even some of Upanyasakas (Pouranikas) of Indian origin get mixed up in interpreting it while teaching one of our great scriptures, The Bhagavadh Gita. 2. In newer temples which are being built all over the world, the rules for the temple, called Aagama Sastra are not followed. The ground where it is built should be free of impure or polluting elements (Doshas); The main deity should be selected with care by sastric persons; The size of the structure around the deity, the distance of it from the boundaries and the roof are all required to conform to the Sastras. The temple will exude negative energy if these rules are not followed even if the intentions of the founders are noble. This is particularly true in temples built in the USA and other countries. Many Indian temples, constructed in the last 50 years are so, are no exceptions either. In fact, many of these are built by persons of special interest to fleece the ignorant visitor. After a visit to those temples, even a very pious person who follows his daily routines like Sandhyavandan, reciting of Sahasranamams and so on, feels drained of energy. 3. War in Kurukshetra was a war based on dharma. It is still a holy place and it is difficult to believe that presence there brought discomfort to Gayathriji. Places where mass killings, war etc have taken place are motivated by self interest and on political basis. These wars do not involve dharma. Obviously, it is better to avoid these places. 4. I would strongly recommend that those belonging to the Sanathana Dharma start practicing duties ordained by the Dharma sastras. Every person is likely to have a Guru or Swamiji in his/her family. Or, a wise old man/woman. Please consult them and find out what one needs to do. Sandhyavandhan, daily visit to a nearby temple, chanting Slokas or sahasranama etc. Then start on that practice. Initially one may face a lot of resistance which comes from our tendencies of likes and dilikes accumulated over previous lifetimes. Strive to overcome it and, over time, you will start comfortable doing that. This practice, sustained over time will build positive vibration within which will ward of any influencing negative energies.

Well said. Especially point # 3 Bhagavad Gita mentions Kurukshetra as Dharmakshetra at the very beginning. During a Solar Eclipse thousands of pilgrims go to Kurukshetra to take a dip in one of the holy ponds like Sannihit sarovar or Brahma sarovar. Apart from that, I do have a question point # 1. Specifically what idea or concept isn't conveyed with "soul" versus "atman"? I follow dvaita or acintya bheda abheda tattva and do believe in "Individuality" of atman whether in embodied state or in liberated state. There's no denying that all the living beings are connected though. Please note that I am not debating. Simply seeking for clarification

Many thanks for this extremely insightful podcast, questions really brought the best out of the ocean of knowledge Rao garu has. It took me the last eight years of effort, asking elders for answers, reading, all that had been covered in this interview. When i heard Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara mahaswami. Sringeri, clarifying about Advaita siddhantha, i got full knowledge about the building blocks that we are made of, especially when he explained about paramatma. What we are is- One this physical body (sthoola sharira), second is the energy body or bodies (jeevatma- sookshma sharira) that has karana sharira within which carries all previous janma karmas (sanchitha karma- meaning a bag of karma, in Telugu sanchi is a bag). Apart from these two, there is one another energy in the body, driving force, cosmic force, pure energy, consciousness energy, all of these meaning one word- paramatma. Just last week i was thinking if paramatma is powering all the energy centres in the body (Prana, apana, samana, udana and vyana), what are planets energy doing, where do those energy drills into the body at energy levels, i got the answer now from Rao garu, that planetary energy do act on sookshma sharira level, because i have heard without Rahu and Ketu even birth and death wouldn't happen. Need some more knowledge from Rao garu, if you can get another interesting session from him, it will be a great blessing.
