Thank you for another great video, Carl 🙏 The fact that you’re actually about getting the work done and not just promoting the latest “shiny toys” in productivity land is one of the reason your content is always enjoyable AND helpful.

I totally agree on the start and end date issue. It makes sense for projects, but not for tasks. Your are either doing it, or not doing it. You are not starting a task in July and completing it in November. You are doing it at some point in time. My main challenge is when it is really some kind of project. I schedule the sequence of all the tasks because they have to be done in a specific order and I want to keep that order and not have to re-think it weekly. Clearing the shelf and boxing the books is definitely a pre-requiste to dismantling the shelf. However, as was the case today, this means that I have to start digging and rescheduling individual tasks, when two miracles happen and tasks scheduled to take a long time get completed much faster. The converse happened 2 weeks ago. I had to reschedule individual task through the following two weeks since a critical resource was not available (on holiday).

Ah, this is why I prefer to keep multi-step projects in my notes app. That way, I can create checklists, and if I get things done faster than anticipated, it doesn't create extra organising work in my task manager.

Carl, thank you for creating all of the productivity videos. I'm at a point where I need to really focus on weekly and daily planning as well as take control of my time management so that I can accomplish more. Your videos are very helpful.

Imam collecting CDs with recordings of Classical music and listening to it an Talking notes of my Impressions and sometimes share myimpresions to others on an irregular basis. This is why Iuse an iPad mini 6 as Notebook. And i wished iwould hve known your Channel earlier when I was still inmyyjob.

I agree 100%, but how you would handle hybrid work? taking notes in office, home, meetings outside of the office visiting customers, inside the office, etc. The problem these days that our work is spread a long the complete day/week/months and always we want to feel in control.

On days when I am out and about visiting students, doing chores and meeting with accountants and bank managers, I know as long as I am collecting stuff (commitments, meeting notes etc) and give myself ten minutes at the end of the day to organise what I collected, I will always be in control. (also never commit to anything until you have reviewed your calendar at the very least)

I organise my day ahead each evening and that takes 10 minutes at most. I’ve set up my task manager to my satisfaction and don’t feel any compelling need to tinker with it. If I’m unproductive it’s simply because I’m lazy.

The ironic thing is I was watching your video because I was seduced by the 'organise' phase! :)

Thank you again for another video. You mention that DRAFTS is your go-to capture app. That prompts a couple of questions: - How does DRAFTS interoperate with your renewed focus on analog and the Franklin Planner? - I do not see any recent videos (most seem 4-5 years ago) on your use of DRAFTS. Is there a current overview of how you use it in your system / could you point me to the most relevant one describing your capture process? Thanks in advance

My use of Drafts hasn't changed for over 10 years. It's still connected to Todoist and Evernote and I currently use it when walking Louis, or out and about. (That bit is more challenging with the Franklin Planner) I have a video on my Franklin Planner experiment coming next week.

@ I see you’re an Evernote user, would you recommend it for an Apple notes user?
@Carl_Pullein3 ай бұрын
@@arkhurdler7308 It doesn't work well with Apple Notes, Sadly. You can create a complex Shortcut to get it to work, but it's not as simple as with Evernote.
