Mine kicks ass, love it. Got a 100w electric blanket to go for over 2hrs on an XC5.0 battery on the highest heat setting, couldn't believe it. When I get the HD12.0 I'll run the blanket on medium heat and see if I can get most of a night out of it. We'll without a doubt be able to use it for winter camping in the 4Runner.

The beginning of this video is cool because it makes sense - electronic devices don’t surge when they “start up”. The rest of the video is laughable because most everyone knows when an electric MOTOR starts it draws a LOT of power. This is why when your air conditioner or central air kicks on the lights dim for a split second. I’m buying one for my modem & router. It’s my understanding that even when the power goes out cable TV & internet feeds are still live, but without power for the modem (and WiFi router) it’s worthless. Maybe I’m wrong about cable being live during a power outage (I never had the means to test it) but if I am, I’m sure I can find another use for this thing.

Will it work the same with a less powerful battery like the M18 XC 5.0?

Yes. The TOP-OFF doesn't take advantage of the High-Output batteries.

175 Watts is the Milwaukee Top Off output; seems like a basic spec to put on a video like this. It’s almost like they are trying to imply that it was more much more powerful then it was. The DeWalt power station he brought up has 1,800 running watts which would have actually powered the router, coffee maker, and vacuum. I have the DeWalt and can run my table saw with it and a vacuum or router and vacuum. Milwaukee also has a larger version though it doesn’t run on M18

Can you plug in an AC fan that does not have a power brick to the top off, then plug it into a wall outlet and compare if the noise of the fan changes?

I wonder how long this would power a wifi router....won't mind having internet during a power outage...

We thought the same thing. We figured we could plug in a tv, our router, and watch Netflix until the power came back on. But each time the power goes out, Cable goes out too. I can only assume whatever switch bring cable into our neighborhood, loses power too.

Use a hotspot. Or use your phone as a hotspot to stream to tv. You already have the solution.

Pretty sure you could calculate that. Say you are using a 12.0 m18 battery, 12x18 gives you 216 watt hours and if your router uses say 6 watts and round up to 10 for inefficiencies for the inverter, 216/10 gives you 21.6 hours of run time, maybe a little longer

@@JonMarshAnderson you ever put youre hand over a modern wifi router.. those things are making some heat when theyre running flat out, im thinking closer to 50watts, still 3+ hours.. i doubt that top off is over 70% efficient

Everyone begging their favorite brand to make a coffee maker. Just buy a 12 volt coffee maker and wire it to an adapter for your platform got one for 17$ on clearance and one of my ryobi 9amps will run it three times ( about 6 cups it brews 2 at a time)

Hi Robert, I am a recent subscriber and really enjoying all Belts and Boxes videos. I was wondering if you could recommend a reversible ratcheting wrench set for a DIYer? Not a cheap made one either. What are your thoughts?
@ToolShow
@ToolShow 3 жыл бұрын
I'd be confident recommending anything from GearWrench. Here's an 8 pc set for $117 that currently includes a free Lufkin Tape Measure, which is pretty awesome too. Or, if that "Buckeye" in your name means you're an Ohioan like we are, and you'd like to support local/Made in the USA, I'd suggest you look at Wright Tools. They're made here in Ohio and have a fantastic reputation. You can find their reversible ratcheting box wrenches here: www.ohiopowertool.com/m-2225-wright-offset-ratcheting-box-wrenches-reversible.aspx
