It had an electric motor inside, that created an actual vacuum, to demonstrate the functionality of the system. . Getting 100 mpg? Doesn't seem all that impossible to do with ANY type of engine lol. I'd bet you could even get a .1 liter rotary engine on a moped to do 100 mpg, if such a thing would ever exist.

Would have been smarter to have used the fans to push the car down instead of sucking it down. Less complicated, however the elephant in the room on a design like this is, if this system failed - especially at speed - would be a sudden loss of grip and this thing would have been extremely dangerous to the driver and anyone behind him. Sometimes a simple solution is much better, a stationary wing (fixed or adjustable) and good tires is better for simplicity and doesn't just quit on you drastically changing the dynamics of the car.
