For $20 I couldn't resist. I ordered mine after watching your video. They can thank you later for the exposure. 😂

Hello Daniel, thank you for the awesome review! We are very happy you love the game! New content for this game is definitely planned! Would love to talk to you about it :)

Do you ship the game to the UK?

Have you seen the classic 1979 Hex tile laying game Magic Realm? The nodes connected by paths/roads on themed tiles reminds me of it a lot. I don't own it but it's an Avalon Hill game so it's complex. That's esthetically & mechanically attracts me to this game.

@@amusement420 I am just checking it out, I haven't seen the game but it looks interesting! Although it could use a modern art and graphics :)

Thanks for the Vid. I found the iconography rather lacking so I'm glad it's all explained in the rule book.

Great review of a game that has some potential, especially in future editions or expansions.

Nice. Thank you for exposing another simple small dungeon-esque travel game. Looks to have well-rounded, simple, but linked mechanics. Also despite you saying that it takes table space, I like the designs to reduce footprint, such as removal of enemy cards (only need token and cheet sheet) and that you primarily play on the 'cheat sheets' as you call them, and quest cards and map and that's (pretty much) it. Less components and refined playspace. So many of these games have too many components, it's nice to see one that thinks and links.

League of Dungeoneers! I really should check out the new rules, but I'm in the middle of an Oathsworn Into the Deepwood campaign right now.

Like this game… especially for 15€ it’s a steal. Really nice travel game in a very small box. And yes i agree the iconography is wired 🤣 anyway the art is bonkers. Really dig all the art. Thank you for this nice review. 🙏🏻👍🏻🙌🏻

Thank you for the awesome video Daniel! Plz excuse me but Im still not good at the internet. This is actually the best way that I know of to message you Did you happen to see that pre-orders just opened up for the Tales of The Arthurian Knights? I dont know if your that interested in that game or not. And im super sure you already knew about it. But as the person who has done such an insanely amazing job at introducing so many people to so much awesomeness, including myself, I just wanted to share the news w you! Thank you again for everything and I hope you have an awesome weekend coming up here!

Seems interesting. It looks like the kind of game that will benefit from expansions (and a second edition).

I agree with your opinion on it and really wish the game was better. Traveling warrior doctor premise and the map building are awesome, but I wish the encounters and the theme were stronger. I would lean much more into the "plagued land" idea and fight infected people and animals, cultists worshiping the plague and opportunistic bandits. Really there's no need for trolls or giants or whatever other generic fantasy enemy types we get. Just lean into that plague and add some thematic non-combat encounters. Get a better resolution system going while we're at it and we would have a much better game.

You can turn a 3 into a 4 or a 4 into a 3 would be what I see, and I’m wrong too haha

I'm playing along, so don't know the icon answer yet. My guess is that you swap the position of a lower die for a higher die.

Good point on iconography it is such a huge part of board gaming that at times tends to get overlooked . I think tiny epic dungeons had some of the worst iconography out there.
@TheDungeonDive9 ай бұрын
Yep! That game is unplayable without the cheat-sheet.

Was debating between this game and The Ratcatcher for a dark fantasy solo dungeon crawl. Still can't decide 😫
@TheDungeonDive6 ай бұрын
Huh. I’m not familiar with Ratcatcher.
@Choose2Connect20 күн бұрын
If you have a lot of patience, The Ratcatcher is okay... rules are absolutely terrible. Issues on the player boards make it confusing. I have enjoyed a few play throughs, but the research I've had to do online is astronomical.
@Choose2Connect20 күн бұрын
Also, I have not played Light in the Dark yet, but I trust the publisher/designer a lot more with quality control. Small Samurai Empire is one of my favorites!

Kinda seems unfinished. I love the theme, not a huge fan of the art but it has some ideas I really like. I think I’d rather have paid a bit more money and had a few more cards, missions and some better art. That iconography is nuts! Great and fair review!! I actually really like those map tiles, those are fun!

I think the map tiles are excellent - but so lacking elsewhere. Great playthrough and showcase, for $20 its not bad at all - but i have way to much of a backlog that i can't see this being in my 1100+ boardgame shelves... yea i have a problem.
