A Smash Bros. Lawl Thing - Retold Shrek

I have nevered seen Shrek Retold myself (I'm terrible I know), but I thought this was a very good respresentation of the actual project itself. I also like on how R.S is an All-Rounder with Mix-up properties referencing the many different artstyles, and that he also has attributes similar to the actual Shrek. Even though this might potentially be the closest to Shrek ever being in Lawl, it was definitely done right.

I'm still yet to see Shrek Retold, I'll probably watch it when I have some time, but I think this moveset works very well with the character while also being very different to what you'd expect from a normal Shrek moveset, I actually feel like he could be my main, I very much enjoyed this. Probably my favourite moves would be his Down Special, I like the mix-up between a vehicle move and an anti-trap move, the blend is very nice and it's a really unique concept too. I also enjoy the different uses of each move as well, he does feel like a true mix-up character. Although the Final Smash is more on the less unique side, I like how the Dragon his multiple different attacks to make it feel different enough, and besides it is the most fitting idea for a Final Smash anyway so I'm fine with it either way. So yea, a really good moveset, it represented the source material very well, even to someone who hasn't seen it, very well done.

While I wasn’t expecting the moveset to be handled like this (as the constantly shifting styles of scenes and such, and the original Shrek film to consider as well), but I have to say it was worth the wait for this moveset, and overall it suits the whole film quite well, while still maintaining play style balance.

This is the first Retold/Reanimated character I see and you nailed it only representing stuff the original couldn't do. Only shooting stars break the mold.

Finally, we get to see Shrek in a Lawl-- *some guy whispers* Wait, this is the retold version? *some guy whispers again* Huh. Arright. Jokes aside about how much I and many others wanted the original Shrek in Lawl, this is pretty good. I like how he's part Mix-Up as a means of representing the multiple styles of the retelling, and he seems pretty cool to boot without feeling like a Shrek Echo...a Shrekho. I'll see myself out the swamp.

I’m honestly still stunned this is an actual character in a Lawl. I mean, yeah sure, you’ve shown to be capable of creating movesets for what seem like literally how ideas like Commercial Kirby, but something about this is… wow. I absolutely fell in love with Shrek Retold when it first debut. The indie appeal, relatability to the people who grew up on Shrek (2 being my absolute fav since childhood), and those said people pulling together their talents and passions to create something truly their own off pre existing ground. If it wasn’t for a few things holding me back, that and well, Retold Shrek being a part of ASBLT, I would’ve picked this idea up for my own potential Lawl in a heartbeat, that’s how much it means to me. Speaking of Retold Shrek in ASBLT, I honestly enjoyed this moveset. There were some issues present, like the playstyle doesn’t really feel like a true all-rounder, and the screen ko could’ve been different from his hit animation. But at the heart of this bright onion, there is some good. I personally dug the costume being RT Shrek’s default look (also damn, that intro animation was crisp), and the victories were pretty fitting and sweet. Going over each special real quick, The Fence was a practically perfect choice for a special, referencing one of the best segments of the film (so did that forward air, thanks for getting Narmak’s animation in somewhere) and makes a solid enough projectile. Donkey’s stretch isn’t a bad move in concept, though letting enemies use him as a platform is a little odd to include. Maybe it could’ve also been like Pac-Man’s Side B to reference the animation used more. The Chain is… interesting. Not sure why the liquid state does more damage than when Shrek’s wrecking as a ball though. Delivery Boy’s not a bad idea: A cargo throw with a bit of armor framing, plus the item boxing and throwing is a nifty extra. Lastly there’s The Dragon as Final Smash. Aside the unnecessary self explainy, I dug it pretty well. With her varying, powerful attacks, it’ll make dethroning the current ruler of the match much easier. While the overall moveset didn’t shine as much as it could’ve, seeing this shooting star of an idea represented at all was very much worth the wait and build up. Thank you so much for adding this symbol of true passion projects into your own, can’t wait to see what’s next in your quest to create cool Lawl vids.

Thanks! About the Up B, the liquid state actually deals less damage (at 2%) than the swing (which deals 9%).

Oh yeah,I saw Shrek Retold...It was pretty cool and hilarious to see I was wondering what this Moveset was gonna have Shrek do and You have done good my dude! (Also I was Longing for Khonjin’s part to appear in this Moveset as I thought it was gonna be the screen KO) Anyways For the Moveset itself It was pretty good and Balanced. And A lot of moves go well with this Random and weird character... Also I don’t know why but I like the Victory Animations (especially the third one XD) And The Character itself is a pretty cool character that I’ll Main ANYDAY! Overall Retold Shrek is an outstanding character,You’ve outdone yourself with this Moveset 👍 Can’t wait for The next Moveset (I hope it’s Bonzi or Airman)
