A solution to MIS storage capacity

This is a 2wt bufferless hybrid multi item sorter interface that is meant to take care of a bigger item capacity because of the box loader. It is completely bufferless and has an overflow protection. The worst part of it really is the bad hopperlocking.

Hey Moony, I was telling Potatocraft about how I plan on adjusting the hoppers just a smidge and splitting the chests into two groups (two upper for lift size filters like stairs and slabs) and the two lower ones to fill with bulk blocks (like cobblestone) and then shulkers in the lowest chests as needed. Gonna be amazing for 'one stop' shopping without needing a different area for bulk.

This is absolutely beautiful, I previously handled this issue by simply replacing the storage rows that needed it with a box loader but that was obviously pretty ugly. Do you have a list of MIS's that would work particularly well with this or that you'd recommend?

Well in the video, I recommended moonyMIS or cartMIS. moonyMIS is the easier to use version that’s 1x speed and cartMIS is harder but can parallel sort and therefore reach up to 16x speed. You can find both multi item sorters on Rapscallion’s YT channel iirc But you could use this for any sorting slice you want above. The contraption itself only serves as storage. It doesn’t sort anything.

Just wondering, what happens if you run out of empty shulker boxes? Also, can the number of chests (both for items and boxes) be increased?

If you run out of boxes, the dispencer won’t trigger and box and your items will simply be spit out and despawn. So the user must make sure they put enough shulker boxes to every slice. The number of chests for items can be increased or reduced somewhat easily, tho changing the layout by one block in height would be very awkward to rewire. I plan on doing a V2 of this storage slice later, I’ll probably make a few versions with different heights. The chest for shulkerboxes is unfortunately not really expandable. I don’t see a way to add more storage for boxes in a way that keeps a good layout and remains 2wt.

I'm having trouble getting my system to work in version 1.21. It's putting items into the shulker box before it finishes filling the chest. It seems like it detects items passing through the dropper at the top, and then it starts turning on and off a lot. Some items end up in the chest, but most of them end up in the shulker.

@@Kd_Gaming117 that sounds like the sb loader part has an issue. I saw you joined the discord server, just send me a picture of the left and right side of the slice in the help channel. You must have made a mistake somewhere

​@@PotatoCraft_TMC I have figured it out I had built a dropper elevator directly beside it and it made it not work for some reason even though none of the observers should be powering any of the redstone of the slice. It does at least work now.

I applied it in my mis it work as expected but there is seperated chest for each slice to put shulker box which is kind of irritiating and time wasting i tried to put hopper but it is locked due to redstone than i thought to level the floor up but than it hard acces chest and shulker box what should i do?¿

I mean i just needed one chest to put all empty shulker boxes in all of the slices but placing hopper have problems like 1. The bulk cuircuit interfers with hopper 2. I have to place hopper in the UI where i stand is just not pleasing me and if managed to place hopper without curcuit interfare than i have to place carpets which i dont like Thats why i have to get stuck with puting shulkerboxes in each slice individualy manually and checking is very important for every chest so my items won't diseaper

Isn’t the reason obvious? There are so many items for a MIS that your chests get full too quickly. Having a box loader to take care of all of that is a major improvement because it allows to get way more items stored per slice

@@imiticifranoixd263 I got a trick for you: the house is purely decorative and you put everything that serves a purpose underground in the basement. That’s what I’ve always done. It could be smaller if I made the logic external but I didn’t… and I have a better storage like this one but better coming up someday if I can fix one issue
