Thank you for sharing your beautiful song and I can almost picture you two! My paternal grandma had Alzheimer’s for 10 years and she sometimes was so terrified that strangers were in her room at night! Poor lady!! My maternal grandma disowned our whole family because my father, married to her eldest daughter, my Mom, owed her money and he didn’t pay her back. I never saw her after I turned 11. My Mom and I, on the other hand, were extremely close and I was devastated when she died. Our favorite poem was 1-2-3 about the little boy and his grandma! Thanks again for sharing! ❤️🤗

Some people don't know good music when they hear it. Their probably the ones listening to shit that I don't even call music. Kinda like half the stuff that's over any pop/rap stations on air. Least this song has meaning that will stick with thousands that have gone through the same circumstances. Hater are gonna hate either way. I'm old enough to know that this song will have meaning for people that are going through a similar situation so I commend you on writing this song straight from the heart. Keep up the excellent work I rk your doing. God bless.

I went straight to the Commandant and told him that he would have to find a replacement because I was going "home" while my dad still knew who I was. He held on from then (2000) to 2006. My grandma had dementia. Not exactly Alzheimer's, but dementia. And before she had it, she was loving and caring with us kids. She practically raised us when our parents were at work. Then she came down with it and dhe was a whole different person. Calling me "travis" and smacking me. It traumatized me and definitely left a scar, but i still loved her deep down. She died last year, but at least i know she's not suffering anymore 😢❤

Such a heart felt song. Beautiful song. She sounded like an awesome grandma. I want to mention that sometimes when you thought your grandma didn’t remember you, she did remember you . I k ow this to be true. I cared for my father and I thought he didn’t remember, but he did. Some times it is hard for someone to communicate when they have memory issues. You can still communicate with your heart, a smile ,gentle touch, singing, playing music and a gentle nod and hug makes a huge difference . His Love truly heals us . I first ran into that disease when I was at my first duty station- Naval Hospital Bethesda. I watched it tear families up as their loved one slowly disappeared. Many years later, as my dad battled cancer, he was also starting to battle dementia. He held both at bay for more than 16 years before he was called home. There is no shame in and getting choked up while writing or performing such a beautiful tribute. Well Done!

Watching someone you love forget who you are is truly one of the most painful and heartbreaking experiences. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Because for me, even though my grandma was physically alive, the person she was died a long time before her body did. And those rare lucid moments where they remember your name hurt oh so much more when it fades away.

I am about your age (younger by a year or two) but lost my grandmother at 16 too. My grandma had custody of me from 5 to 16 when she passed away. So when she died it was like losing a parent. Her death was tougher, sadder, & definitely caused more changes in my life (big & small) than the death of my dad (her son)! I even used to live in the country with Grandma Beth but moved in with my parents who lost custody of me when I was 5 when she got sick enough from lung cancer that she had to live in a nursing home - that she said she definitely didn't want to have to go to (worked at nursing homes as a L.P.N. til I was about 8/in 4th grade). R.I.P. Grandma Beth & to all the 'grandma's boys' out there I feel/get it/you, respect, & 💜!

My second Dad had this horrible disease, I had to watch as it devoured him and made him useless as a person , it literally broke my heart to watch one of my heroes be consumed by something I couldn't fix . I kept him for several months at stage 4 to give his children a break , I would have kept him till the end if they would've let me , he did so much better with me , because I let him do things his children wouldn't. I miss him terribly, he was my Dad's best friend and my second Dad . I was basically raised by the two of them , no mom to speak of .
