Adam Livori is a cardiac clinician-researcher currently completing his PhD in pharmacoepidemiology, health economics and translational science. He holds degrees in nuclear medicine and clinical pharmacy and works clinically as consultant cardiology pharmacist at Grampians Health in regional Victoria. He was announced the winner of the 2024 Advanced Pharmacy Australia Medal of Merit at #MM2024AdPha.
Livori was honoured for his contributions to the organisation and work centred on medication use, and equity of access, in cardiology patients. That includes a focus on open-source science and transparency of statistical methodology that is pioneering better cardiovascular care in regional and rural Australia. He speaks to Croakey about his thermodynamics metaphor, what the award means and how being a senior clinician one day and a “newbie” researcher the next brings valuable lessons.
