Guys, this has been a dream to create. I love you all. This is such a hard time for everyone, and it comes from the heart; I've had immediate family on ventilators in the face of COVID-19. My Dad is a front-lines doctor. We're gonna show that the Anime community is capable of truly wonderful things for the good of the world. Please consider supporting this project in any ways that you can over the course of the next month

@masonlieberman14 жыл бұрын
@@DarkQueenHelba I compose for anime for a living. Most of these people are legitimately just dear friends who I've always wanted to work with, but never had the proper time to. COVID-19 lockdown has disrupted music tremendously, especially on the performance front. In a weird way, this is the only time something like this ever COULD happen. I am so grateful to everyone who said yes, and even more stunned for those who reached out. I must confess, never in my wildest dreams did I think we could have THE queen of anime herself, Yoko Kanno, and the legendary Seatbelts on this. Kanno-san is the consummate professional, and I am filled with so much joy that she chose to support this project in this way. I will always be grateful to her and everyone involved for their incredible generosity towards this crisis that affects us all.

There once was a tiger striped cat. This cat died a million deaths, revived and lived a million lives, and he was owned by various people who he didn’t really care for. The cat wasn’t afraid to die. Then one day the cat became a stray cat, which meant he was free. He met a white female cat, and the two of them spent their days together happily. Well, years passed, and the white cat grew weak and died of old age. The tiger striped cat cried a million times, and then he died too. Except this time, he didn’t come back to life. Look at my eyes, Faye. One of them is a fake because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I’ve been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over. I'm not going there to die. I'm going there to find out if I'm really alive. See ya, space cowboy. You're gonna carry that weight.

Can you imagine the marching band or Drum Corps version of this makes your heart speed up just thinking about it., 20 years later after it left us., this song sounds just as perfect as the first time it was ever performed that is when you know something is a classic. Here's the entire rap: Its a hard, cold world, But even colder without'cha. Lookin' for kind eyes at every single encounter. Cuttin' through harsh stares, Got my hope from the doubters. Memory starts to fade, Sweet dreams begin to sour. Wind smothers my window, Flame hard to rekindle. World crumble around me, Beggin' god for a signal. Life is never that simple, Lies dismantle temples, That pain that left me crippled refined me like a chisel. You find, me in the middle of war through peace, Just Tryin' to ease my mental, Explorin' beats. Real rhymes for real times, Sweetest gift like Sadé, In my name, Meanin' so classic like Watanabe. Never that hard to find me, A rider for the people, Do or die, suitland sire, Born to rise above the evil. Walk through fire if I need to, To get to higher ground. I am down for the fight of my life till the final round. - This is for my real folks, Who never wanted to deal dope, Who see the world at it's darkest and bleakest and still hope, Know that kindness ain't a weakness, just a sign of our uniqueness. Hard as you work to get it, that's how hard you work to keep it, not a secret! I just rap to offset my setbacks, Tryna get the bounty like I'm Jet Black, So respect that. Qualifier like a Mike Eagle, Rappin for my people, Leave the mic smokin' like I'm Spike Spiegel. They say business and pleasure, they don't mix, But when I'm with my real folks, There ain't no need code switch. When I'm feelin hopeless, my folks keep me focused. Faye with the Osteo .45, We don't miss! But my heart, It gets torn in two, When I see what this world has now morphed into. But no matter what, we gonna get through. Kickin' off the blues, And takin' off like the Swordfish II! _ I'm not a, Saint or a sinner, My days are my winners, My dreams are my picture, My breakfast is dinner, My gun is my mirror. My friends are my villains, I come from the village where love is your killer, Where love gets you killed, If you know when you feel it, Your losses are vicious. Turnin my shooting stars to an asteroid, You use your eyes too much, I flow in the focal point, You overthink almost every choice and you die quick. You never risk what'cha got and you never find shit! Never do what I'm told! Bravery isn't bold! People die who were right about everything that they know, But their finger was slow! Do what you sold, I go where I go. Whatever happens happens, I see one eye through the past and I keep on backin, Depressin, I'm usin the baskin to end it, Now I'm askin the questions, graspin' my weapon on top'a my exit, I kill me the dragon! I'm back from the steps and the gate, They're waitin' for me, Let me carry the weight. Bang. See you space cowboy…

I'm honestly really conflicted about a live action adaptation of this. Like, on one hand at least they're not picking something that would require a metric fuckload of CG, so they at least have that going for them. Plus, Sci-fi is a genre we've been doing pretty well for almost 50 years now. I think where this adaptation will fall short is the cast, and they'll also probably try to change the story for some stupid reason. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

I got CHILLS from this, and I legitimately have tears in my eyes when I heard Jet and Spike speak. This really hit me so hard, I have no words to describe it.

Was I the only one surprised to see Substantial? I know him from Nujabes collabs. I’ve never actually seen his face until now.

He worked with watanabe on Champloo, so he's got some connection. Makes sense. All three rappers were dope on this track.

I think this is now the definitive version of this song. I've love it for decades but this version just feels next level. it has so much heart!

Agreed this feels like the version of this song it was always meant to be. And all these people coming together from all across the world that originally had nothing to do with the show , they were just fans that grew up with it, shows how far this show has reached and how many people it’s touched . That in a literal global crisis we would all still turn to THIS SHOW for comfort speaks volume about the impact it’s had over the years
