Thanks Don for showing. I like the location and also the editing. Have a good one!

Well done Don, perfect pace for someone new to Photolab 7 and on the learning curve. Not exactly a simple task coming from PS, old habits still lingering but indeed finding the software very capable for my needs. That said for the life of me, after editing and exporting a photo, I cannot figure out how to close the file in the edit window. I can over ride it with a new photo, but curious how to close it (MacBook Pro) without actually shutting down Photolab. I cannot find any info out on the net but perhaps you can help (I did try the close button, bottom right, but it just minimizes the software). Thank you, I truly appreciate your content and its presentation, an invaluable learning tool. Be well Don.

There actually is no closing a file in Photolab. As a non-destructive editor it is always saving notes about your changes in a side file. If you export a file you can view that too... but it will always show what it is pointed at. So you can change to another file and it will show you that till you close the application or change to another file. I hope that makes sense.

@@dxflow3271 sure does, overtime it became clear to me the logic of the software. Still clunking along but getting better as I go, it is very capable but has its quirks. Thanks for responding, stay well!!

Really great thanks! Would you recommend buying the film pack package? I'm not really into old film simulations, while I love some classic ones. But the package seems to add some interesting options on Photolab (fine contrast, split toning, vignette effect, etc). Do you think it's worth it?
@dxflow32713 ай бұрын
I am actually the same. I don't do much old film look, but I love the extra tools. I think for me it is worth it, but you should definitely do the 30 day trial and see how it works for you in practice.

How do you detach the histogram to enable you to move it onto the image?
@dxflow32716 ай бұрын
Just grab bear the top of the histogram and pull it free. To redock, just get it near the left side of the screen and it will jump back in.

Master, thank you! Tell me, it seems to me that you control all the sliders from the keyboard, not with the mouse. I haven't learned that yet. How do you do it? Do you use any keyboard shortcuts?
@dxflow32719 ай бұрын
I think what you are seeing is that I am controlling it with my right click. In windows if you right click on the slider it will increment up or down depending on where your mouse is. If you are on windows, give it a try :)

Hmmm...I found something strange in your version and mine of PL7. I have film pack as well. BUT - @14:27 I noticed top right corner where it says "RAW White Balance". I looked at mine and side by side of app and video - mine says White Balance...NOT RAW White Balance. Why is that like that...how did you change the name? I looked everywhere for changing or modifying something like that...cant find it or even see an option.

Is there a chance you are on Mac? There are sometimes some small differences between versions.

@@dxflow3271 Yup that answered my question and curiosity...I am on Mac. Thanks for the response and clarity on this. I was completely baffled.
