A STINGING ANT RAID Invaded My Home (They Ate Everything!)

I woke up to a very shocking surprise! Marauder ants swarming above ground and circling my home, eating everything they could find. However, instead of spraying the ants with bug spray, I decided I would attempt to appease the ant horde with some food gifts. Their response to this course of action was quite surprising. Hope you enjoy this week's episode! Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed making it, and please remember to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE (hit the BELL) if you did! I'd appreciate it a lot! Thank you! Ant love forever! Ants are actually really interesting creatures, it's so cool to see how ant colonies have different jobs for different ants
@maxtherobloxian5573
@maxtherobloxian5573 Жыл бұрын
Here are different types of jobs for an ant. Worker-they find food and clean the nest. Scavenger-these ants go far away from home and find food, in the dangerous outside world. Replete-these are the ants that have aceepted to be the walking fridge, and have their inside foods eaten by the colony. Guard-these ants are not bigger than majors, but watch over the egg, larvae, and pupae and the queen incase an underground war happens. Major-these ants are bigger than workers and defend the clan and move slower, having a hard body and bigger head makes it strong. Super major- these ants are upgraded majors and have REALLY large bodies, and intense bite force, and they guard their colony, and when an ant finds food, they watch over the food to make sure their prize wasnt stolen.

I have actually had a similar experience when dealing with an ant swarm in my mother's kitchen. I have Mikey to thank for helping me come up with the idea of setting out a banquet for them out near their home but away from the house. amazingly, it worked. They ate the food i gave them and left my mother's kitchen alone. It's amazing to see Mikey trying this same thing and getting similar results. ♥

Suddenly, i got an idea to feed them with some sweet thing stored in my house. Luckily, i had put worms in tge plant. They fricking ate every worm. Next day, i saw red ants raidin* the whole thing. That would be more exciting and fun... in my house and front yard i have already witness alot of ant battles, rise and fall of ant kingdoms, seen black crazy ants figthing waging war againts fire ants over a dead cockroach... seen back crazy ants hunting and raiding a termite colony only to be annilated by the acid glue defences excreted by the termites military suicide squad!!! @talandar5773
@talandar5773 2 жыл бұрын
Ants will eat anything sugary, but they might ignore it if the sugar content isn't particularly high. Any type of sweet product would be popular, the fruit would probably garner some interest depending on how ripe it was, but I don't see them eating much from the leaves except maybe as a source of water.

I did something similar a couple summers ago. We had a rather large ant colony outside our front door and every night for a couple of weeks I left some fresh honeycomb and some canned dog food (didn't have any super worms 😉) and they never entered the house (unlike the previous summer). It was a pretty cool little experiment. They didn't come back the third summer, though.

Yes! Vinegar is an excellent repellent to keep ants away from your home, they hate the smell of it. There are a huge amount of humane ant repellent’s, to keep them out of people’s homes. I wish more people would at least try a few, instead of going straight to the can of Raid/Mortein/Aerogard and just killing every ant in sight. You can leave cucumber, cut up, or just the peel by any entry point, the same with lemons, or you can use lemon juice and water, a 50/50 mix in a spray bottle and just spray it around any entry points in your home or anywhere that you might think is beneficial. There are just so many things that can be found in most people’s cupboards already, so you don’t need to go and buy a product that is only to kill ants or even to repel them. As you mentioned, vinegar, you can ‘draw lines’ or you can use it in a spray bottle. Like I have already said, cucumber, either cut up, or just the peel. The other things that ants either hate the scent of, or they just can not pass, are, used coffee grounds, turmeric, salt or salt water spray, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, black pepper, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree oil, peppermint, mint in general, garlic, chalk - you can simply draw a line with chalk and the ants are unable to pass! They also are unable to pass over baby powder. So many things!

What an awesome video Mikey! I really enjoy these videos where ants are like, “Girls! You are never going to believe who is staying in the neighbourhood! It’s Mikey from AntsCanada! Come on! We have to get him to notice us! We can all be famous!” Lol Haha! You know what I mean! Either some really cool ant just walks past you, where you are staying or 2 different ant army’s decide to go to war right in your back yard, or a colony of ants decide to go on a massive food hunt and raid right outside your door! They always make for fascinating videos. I love watching the ants all stopping dead in their tracks and then running over to that sweet, sweet river of juice, flowing from that jelly cup! I found it so amusing when so many ants were lined up, drinking from that juice and there was no more space for any other ants to be able to drink the juice, so there were a few ants standing on top of the ones that were able to drink from it, and it looked like those ants were peering down, in any little space they could see between the ants that were drinking and they were running back and forth, kind of like they were trying to find a space, any space big enough that they might fit into, to be able to get a taste of that sweet juice! I know they would have gotten their share eventually, but they were looking a bit impatient to me!! I love that you feed them and I love it even more that they were nowhere to be seen the next day! Not because you were trying to get rid of them, although I know that that was your end goal, but more because you made a video out of it, which is going to be viewed by over a million people eventually. Therefore each and every one of the people who watch this video, will see that ants do not need to be sprayed in order to get rid of them. Those ants were out in force for a purpose. They needed sustenance, for themselves and for the rest of their colony. They are no different from us in that respect. We all need food and a well balanced diet! You just showed all of us that once the ants got everything that they needed, they went back to their colony’s. You also showed us that you were more than likely able to speed up the process! After 3 days of foraging, the ants had to have amassed quite a haul for the colony, however, I didn’t see anything sweet and high in carbohydrates out of all the items they were carrying home. Of course I am aware that we only saw a small portion of the items the ants were able to find. However, I still think that you providing them with that sweet little tub of jelly and then with a fresh source of meat, which, like you said, is so important for the Queen to consume, so that she can continue to create many more eggs to ensure the longevity and the growth of the colony! So, while you may feel that it was probably a coincidence, I really think that you just gave them exactly what they needed and they could stop the hunt for now. If you had given food to the ants on the first or even second day, the chances are that they would have had to continue foraging for more food or they would have gratefully accepted a second offering of food from you! Seeing just how big of a hunting party was out foraging for food, makes me feel like that must be a huge colony, as you know better than I, and better than most, no colony sends out all of its ants for any reason, other than when they move the entire colony to a new location. I really wish I could write shorter comments! But once I get started……….!

4:42 Supermajors are like bio-mechanical TANKS! It makes me wonder if any of the riders are specialists like "supermajor experts" within the colony that help maintain these massive infantry units. (How would Mike even know if individuals had such relationships or squadrons within a colony???) With this much organization, would such duties be random? It's got me thinking of it like a literal bio battalion. All their "weapons" and "technology" are like a warrior species or a football team: Remember the Titans!
