I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.

This chapter makes me think little finger wanted Tyrion dead. Anything from the vale gives me at least a little pause, and Moore sounds exactly like the kind of person little finger would jump on.

I love Preston Jacobs, but a lot of this theories are little out there. But the Purple Wedding being a Littlefinger plot to poison Tyrion is something I almost 100% agree with

5:58 Varys's Deductive Test: who ordered Mandon to kill Tyrion? He said a lot, named a lot of names, but referred to only ONE person by title alone. It is OBVIOUSLY not Cersei, who Tyrion is tunnel-visioning on. "Men who live not for themselves, but their king! By those lights, Ser Mandon was the perfect white knight." Tyrion, the answer is right there, woven into a tapestry of bluster and obscured by biases.

Baelish has no means to manipulate Mandon, and Mandon has no reason to expose himself to potential exploitation and blackmail An order from the king, the embodiment of the law, however...

I just found your channel a few months ago and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening while I work. You have made it easy to get through these books, which I’ve kept putting off bc I didn’t have the time. I’m wondering, will you be reading fire and blood? I know you don’t do this for views or profit, but you have such an amazing reading voice and character voices. I generally accept that his motivations are how he presents them to Ned and a certain other character who I won’t name in case some of my listeners haven’t finished the books yet.

Blackfyer!! Nah no way he is a blackfyer. For me I think Varys is genuinely good, he serve the realm he helped Ned since he knew he will do a good job on protecting the realm when he came to kingslanding even tho Ned brushed him off and didn't want to depend on him, when Tyrion came Varys knew he will do the job and thus served him. Spoilers of the last books but at the end he kinda gave up and gone with his friend's solution to crown Aegon, he knew with all the chaos Keven Lannister wouldn't be able to hold the realm like his brother sure he was doing a good job but I don't think the Lannisters Tyrell alliance will last long thus killing Keven to have more chaos and ease the way for Aegon's conquest.

I think that Varys is a descendant of Calla Blackfyre and her husband Aegor Bittersteel Rivers, founder of Golden Company. And that Illyrio's second wife, Serra from Lys, was Varys' little sister.

@@jerrywhoomst1116 Why that? She was paid for an act and she acts as she was commanded. That's how she brings food on her table. She tries her best to climb the latter as much as she can. The show did the character of Tyrion a great disservice by omitting Tysha at the end of season four and shifting the conflict to romance. Had Shae acted the way she did in the books and not as a lover scorned it would have been much better, because her not being in love with Tyrion and selling him out (involuntarily maybe) would have been something we should have seen from the beginning, but didn't want to. Just like Neds death or the Red wedding.

It's not misogynistic to call out how insincere and manipulate she is. She's not just trying to survive like most sex workers, she's trying to be a rich lady by sponging off Tyrion. Tyrion is a fool and Shae is a bitch. No, I don't think Tyrion should have murdered her anyway, but Shae is not a victim here.

this is the 3rd book, how did you not get used to it by now? I think it works quite well tbh, very different take from the show but it makes him even more ominous when he talks without it
