So I think the Dale brothers should build a door system at the portal where all the ice is, put a big fan in there and blow air into that portal. Next add smoke so it fills all the passages. Send up the drone to look for smoke on the mountain. I like the shows.

What others don’t realize these are clips of the show that’s aired on the TV channel. They did build doors to seal it for the winter & there is a base camp there which is basically in Tad’s backyard of his home. Besides their old & don’t want to work in the winter maybe the younger guys will if they find enough gold to live on. Besides the camera crew is shooting for Mountain Men as well & he cases cats mostly in the winter.

Ollie was not there during the snow avalanche. Ollie retold the story to the family. And over time via the telephone game, things got lost and or twisted in translation. The newspaper article read that one of the miners dove into an ore shoot to take refuge. Either way, the accounts are close enough.

Can’t find anything in that area named Bear gulch. Names have been changed to keep people out. The area there in literally has hundreds and hundreds of mines shafts and tunnels there.

Your not looking hard enough & I found it on Google earth. I have actually been there not actually to the mines but at the mouth of Bear Gulch. I’ve been in the honeymoon cabin 47 years ago & been to the mouth of the canyon this last June where Dad an I ran into Paul working on the winch of that Military truck. Dad & Rick where roommates in collage. Dad & his twin knows all the Brothers & hung out with them. Tads place is the biggest home in there & it’s square. Ricks place is north of the canyon & Paul has a cabin that is the first building to the north at the mouth & you can see his truck there. I’m glad you found it & it’s fun to use Google earth.

@@smileysun9212 I finally found it, just wasn’t looking hard enough, Google earth is great. That place is awesome, so many mines. Would love to swing my metal detector over the tailings piles and even in the mines. I’m out in Northern Commiefornia. We’re so limited and restricted here is rediculous but I’ve managed to find a lot of gold with my detectors but we’re losing a lot of our detecting grounds to development.

@@weshawkins7165 Hope you get to watch the full episodes instead of these clips. It’s fun listening to Dads stories of hanging around there with them & been in one of those mines. I never asked Rick if he had a metal detector & I’m sure someone does. I admired his setup to pan for gold & I asked him about it. You could tell he had gold fever & had to show us his gold. Hasn’t found enough to make a living yet but it’s basically a hobby mine & they get royalties from the show to keep it going. They just wanted to know if the legend is true but it’s fun for them to work together. That’s to bad about your state that the government wants to control everything. What’s sad the politicians from California moves to Utah & try’s to change are way of life. Dads cousin from Montana has his own Trucks & stopped Trucking to California because he has older Trucks. Where I live we are ranked #1 for having the worst air in the nation in the winter months & we are surrounded by mountains that traps the air. During the lockdown last year are air improved quite a bit but it doesn’t help with fires from other states that traps it in our valley but that doesn’t happen to often & they need to do more instead of the emissions test. It doesn’t help when people are flocking to live here. We even have the worst Main Street in the State with the most accidents. I’m ready to move back to Montana.

@@smileysun9212 I found the episodes on Fox Business news and set the DVR to record them. I’ve got a friend in the Iowa Hill area of California who has a drift mine that I have helped with. Learned how to build and set the timber sets. Even cut down Doug fir timber and cut our own timber’s. He taught us how to drill, load the holes, set the charge and blast. Then the work really starts with all the mucking. He also got us the MSHA under training and certifications. It’s been a lot of work but a lot of fun also. My main method of prospecting/mining is with my metal detectors. I have found pounds of gold along with a lot of nice specimens pieces. I just love getting out in woods and hunting for it. I do enjoy these shows, makes me wish I had brothers like that. I hear ya about Californians screwing everything up. I live in the little town of Grass Valley, Nevada County, going on 43 years here. It’s been destroyed by people from the cities moving here, mostly from the San Francisco Bay Area. I tell people when I’m out of state and they see my California license plates that I’m a conservative political refugee seeking political asylum. That gives them a little laugh. Once they find out I’m conservative they become a little nicer. It’s hard traveling anywhere with California plates on your car, just feel like a target.

They need to build a secure, safe and sustainable cabin, being enough supplies to last 1year gor each person.. Build a csbinbandblive there, work the days you can, with all the brothers, 2 hrs a day will get them ahead, no travel time..

There is & it’s called Tad’s place who lives in the Giant with a three story home just bellow the mines but there not going to tell us that & wants us to think there staying in tents. Rick lives not to far away & about a mile away from the mouth of the canyon where the honeymoon cabin is. Paul has a cabin across from the honeymoon cabin. This isn’t a serious operation & mostly a hobby mine to see if Oly’s gold is real but it’s fun for the Dales & they are getting royalties from the show. Dad & Rick where collage roommates. We went to see him last June.

Your welcome! It’s kinda fun hearing people like you bag on these Guys & sometimes I can’t tell if people are being serious or not but I can play both ways. I do think it’s funny that the camera crew is trying to bring excitement into the show & over exaggerate things. The problem is these Guys are actually miners that know what their doing & it bugs the camera crew that there’s no excitement to put the audience on the edge of their seats. They try to get the brothers to fight & their not going to go ape on one another like the camera Guys want but they do have their differences once in awhile. The camera crew tries to make it look harder than what it actually is & they cut things out. It’s also funny that the cameraman is already made it to places they haven’t been yet & there like how do we get through the snow. Tad said they had a side by side with tracks but that would make it to easy. If they really needed that road opened Rick dose have a skid steer & backhoe at his place but it’s entertaining funny how the camera crew is wanting them to act things out to get that excitement. I know there being lead on leashes a little bit. If they needed more money to keep going Rick said earlier in the show they could start mining the tailings pile because the old miners where taking the richer gold. Noticed that Rick uses the term High Grade it’s a better way of saying Glory Hole & it is a mining term.
