A 'STORMY' day for a ride on 'The Mountain Spirit' !! Ffestiniog Railway, 18th August 2024

The last day of our holiday in Criccieth, Wales, and the weather forecast was not good!! Too rough for kayaking, not nice for walking, beach out of the question, so we had saved our trip on the Ffestiniog Railway for this day.
The Mountain Spirit was our train, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Very blustery at Porthmadog , but still dry! The rain started on queue as we arrived at Ffestiniog, but still a great journey behind a Fairlie loco!

Another great little train ride. We went here years ago and it was fine then but they do seem to get a lot of rainy days so a bit of pot luck, hope you did not get too wet and at least it looked a warmish day.

Yes, a great line, great views and some very narrow cuttings through the rocks.. No, the rain didn't start until we got to Ffestiniog, so only abit wet on the station . It was still warm, so still a great trip

Thanks Rick.Not really, on looking at the next few days forecast, we saved this trip up to Ffestiniog for this day as we knew we could be inside ( the train), so didn't get wet at all, apart from a little on the platform at Ffesetiniog.

Here's something else I see you get confused with. The spelling you want is cue. The other spelling is used to describe someone waiting in line for something. It's not all stormy weather on the Ffestiniog Railway, the sun does shine. I know what you need to do: ride the rails on the same sunny day as someone else. Try this little exercise of writing. The sun came out right on cue (at just the right moment). We were tired of queuing up for a ride in the engine's cab (the line of enthusiasts waiting was too long). It will hopefully help you determine the meanings of the two different spellings.

What was I thinking of??? Of course I know the right spelling for this 'cue', especially as we hate the other 'queues'. I must stop editing videos late at night when I am tired!! Glad you spotted my mistake. Thanks Kelly
