I lost my cat Snow almost 10 months ago (Sunday June 11, 2023). I had had him since May of 2010. A tad bit over 13 years. I think of him constantly. When he left at approximately 12:18 p.m. that day, he took a big part of me with him. Rest serenely Snow Christopher. Daddy loves you always. Rest serenely to you too Apache.

They enrich our lives in ways we could not possibly describe. It came through in the pictures. The end is hard for everyone, but I feel most for the children who grow up with that pet and one day have to say goodbye. That pet was always a part of their life, and then one day it all changes.

I spend most of my days taking care of the many companions that have come, often stay, and inevitably pass on. Over the years, I find myself gradually wearing down from the stresses of earning enough money, doing most of my own vet work, cleaning, feeding... saying goodbye. But strangely enough, I find myself watching more and more of these heartfelt tributes to lost companions for inspiration... it's a combination of a shared sorrow which morphs into a fortitude to keep moving forward, keep rising into the infinite potential that defines all of us. I too have lost an "Apache," and all I can offer to you is a heartfelt thank you to both of you for sharing your collective story... it gives me strength and hope for whatever comes next. Yes. I remember each and every one of them. From Gargamel, my first, to Missy, my only dog, to Smokey, Oreo, Runt, Casper, Scooby, and Pammy. I remember them all. Pammy was 19 when she died last August, 2023. I made a pet cemetery for them in the backyard and whenever I look out the kitchen window or mow the lawn, I tell them I miss them and love them. We currently have 7 cats. The 2 most recent additions are Edge and Bob. I found Edge on the edge of one of the bridges in my home city. I was on my way home and driving across one of our bridges and thought I saw something. I turned around when I could and pulled over. Sure enough, there was a small grey tabby on the edge. There was no way that he could have ever gotten there himself. This is a big city. Someone had to have put him there. So I scooped him up, put him in my cruiser, and drove to our vet. He was fine, but skinny. So we kept him and named him Edge. 🤓

​​@@andreadavanzo3386We've lost 4 purr babies n the past 2 months..I lost my baby girl Lexi on March 14, 2024 @ 10:25am while layin on my chest listening 2 my heartbeat...I adopted her from the local animal shelter n my hometown n June of 2007 & she was 13 months old then, she gave me almost 17 years of gr8 memories RIP LEXI 05/17/06-03/14/24...then we lost another purr baby Milo unexpectedly on March 21, 2024 he was rescued as a kitten n the spring of 2019 he was a very healthy purr baby...then we had 2 unexpectedly put our baby girl Blue softly 2 sleep May 11, 2024 @ 12:03am it was so sudden & unexpected bcuz she has been healthy her entire life she's never been sick until 2 days b4 we had 2 unexpectedly put her softly 2 sleep..then we lost another purr baby Halo on May 12, 2024 @ 6:30am we r not sure what caused her sudden passing she was only 12 hours old

So sorry he had to go back home. All animals leave us too soon. They give us all love and make us laugh when were sad or had a bad day. I think about all the pets I once had and knew every day. As long as we remember them and are in our hearts. They never really leave us. One day when we all return to heaven. Every animals we owned and knew will greet us there. For them it's only been a brief time. But they miss us too. They're there healthy and young playing, chasing butterflies and playing all day long. With all the other animals there. Waiting for the day we return home in heaven too. rest in Peace Apache.

He was diagnosed with IBD about three years ago. He lived a fairly peaceful life, but the last few months have been very painful for him. Then the day came when he stopped eating. The name fits perfectly: Apache was a valiant warrior until the end.
