The chicken backs were my mom's favorite piece of the chicken too. This brings back so many sweet memories! One chicken, a husband, and seven children---you know she had to make it work. And after cutting each breast into two pieces, then two wings, drumsticks, thighs, and the back, to a little child it seemed like a huge platter of beautiful fried chicken. Back in the day, mamas sure knew how to stretch a meal. Bless you, Chef!

Just reading this almost brought tears to my eyes...I could see mama in the kitchen...my mom was a single parent...there were seven of us also...and one of my mom's and me favorite part was the back...she cut up the chicken the same way...lol...and we sat around the dinner table every evening...there's only five of us now and I'm 68...I miss those day's...thank you for reminding me of how good it was back then....

Hey Chef! We have are so spoiled, back in the day we had whole chicken that my mother cut up we all loved the backs and necks. I like to get back in that habit buying whole chicken for one thing its cheaper! and as far as that happy family they probably don't have the STRESS of things!!!!! Chef Jeffrey, the story about the family that ate at Church's Chicken brought me back to thinking about how humble they are. It doesn't take much to be blessed by the Man Upstairs. You don't need to spend a lot of money or live in mansion to be rich because those people are the most unhappy most unhappy people in this country. I learned to be thankful for what I may have and to be blessed with the love, support and laughter that I get from my family. I considered myself as being rich. Amen 🙏

When I saw you cooking this I could not believe it! I will buy a whole chicken just to get my some backs. My wife had never heard of just cooking chicken backs. She has learned a lot married to this black man the last 35 years! Lol my daughter and I will fight over the backs . Now that she’s moved to NYC they are all mine. And when my wife sees me just cooking backs she’ll say “ you missing your mom” . Frying these backs up fills my house with the smell of my home and my people up! Thanks again Chef 👨🏾‍🍳! To be honest when I say the title of this episode I started screaming and said“ Oh ! Shit what is having right now ? “ my wife can running in thing something was wrong! Your comments on bullying was very inspiring. As a retired teacher I have seen how mean kids can be to each other. I would not allow it in my class room. Everyone was expected to respect each other. Many times I had to constantly be on top of it. This wasn't tolerated in my class. I understood what you were saying and I'm sorry it happened. I am glad to got help and continue to go to Therapy.

Chef I love chicken backs because they're good to nibble on and they fry up so good. I use chicken backs when I make my stuffing. Best part of the chicken for broth for stuffing. Wow I never seen pieces that big and they are cheap. Have a great day!
