The problem you're likely to encounter when reading unknown floppy disks is the disk format: it could be any one of FAT, CPM, HFS or any number of other formats. Your best option to read them would be to dump the raw data using disk imager. The tape might be ANYTHING: VHS, Betamax, U-matic or even multi track computer data tape (all incompatible with each other). Be aware that tapes like these will not work if they're run through the machine upside down or back to front. Punch cards are EASY to read, all you need to do is photograph or scan them. but make sure you keep them in the correct order

"PC Shell" -- I think that's a DOS program. Those would likely be 640k floppies. There was also a 1.2mb format of those 5.25" floppies. (The hard shelled 3.5" floppies were 1.44mb)
@senilyDeluxe3 жыл бұрын
It also said something about autoexec.bat - so this is almost certainly an IBM/MS-DOS formatted disk. Hm the standard for DOS formatted Double Density floppies (at least in the west) was 360k. There were also rare quad density (that should make 720k but I've never seen this format being used except on early 3,5 inch disks) and of course the 1,2mb high density you mentioned. I also doubt the video tape is actual video tape. It's brown. Video tape is usually black. My guess is this is computer tape (as in those mainframes often seen in movies...) Can't hurt testing though. Maybe it's a recording of Rick Astley (that's what I would do with this tape - then put it back!)

Tesla was an old Czechoslovakian company which made electronics such as TVs and radio, but also military grade electric equipment. It exists from 1946 till 1989, but after USSR fall, CSSR (Czechoslovakian Socialist Republic) also split up (now Czechia and Slovakia) and the old Tesla went to shit, now we have a modern Tesla company which is in Czechia and it produces military and medical grade electronics. And another Tesla is in Slovakia which produces for example doorbells, telecommunications... Elon Musk's Tesla does not have anything incommon with Czechoslovakian old Tesla Company. Ok KZbin is censoring my comments for some reason. I don't know why. Can't see anything wrong. I am now officially pissed! This is the last try. Tesla was an inventor from Croatia, born 1856. He invented the AC motor in 1887. Not only Musk honored his name, but in 1946 some eastern european companies did the same by starting a joint venture under the name "Tesla" as well. Under that brand they produced electronic components and whole devices like radios and such.
