The problem with the whole Pendragon traitor theory is that people are ignoring who Pendragon IS, The Champion of Souls, his entire life's work has been about exclusively ending threats like Flameheart, he was freed from the Painting and the first thing he does before ANYTHING else is continue his lifes work, no questioning how much time has passed, no wondering what's changed, no Pendragon is a man on a mission. And you think he would turn his back on everything he stands for everything he's built his life around... because some pirates betrayed him, and not only that you think he would turn coat, and join the very entity that he swore to destroy that lets not forget... the pirates who betrayed him serve? How flimsy do you think a man like Pendragons convictions are, and even if they were that flimsy in what world does that logic make sense? On the other hand Pendragon joining the Dark Brethren only makes a little more sense, but not much the Cap'n who they serve is a Skeleton Lord supposedly greater in infamy than Flameheart, not to mention the Warsmith. I don't see Pendragon as the type to break from this this will only make him harden his resolve. I genuinely do not get how anyone thinks this is a logical direction for his story to go, and if it does go there I will question the writing team because that heel turn would be more out of left field than Dukes who I am still convinced is a double agent.

Pendragon's role in Pirate's life might be contradictory to this theory, especially compared to Merrick, who used to be a faction leader himself just to be contained within the Athena Fortune hideout, rather than actively shown outside of it(the exception being trailers, since his phantomization), though the Demarco mystery seems resolved, though no one in the SoT fully dies, and the captain hasn't been fully revealed either. It's all theory, though the devs love the community trying to guess their lore intentions

I think the rat is a shapeshifted Duke seeing as he has a prominent rat tattoo on his chest plus at the end of the pirate Lord’s instruction manual there was a series of spellings of the Pirate Lord’s signature like someone was trying to get it just right and if we remember Duke was illiterate and Umbra was apparently teaching him to read and write at the Lagoon of Whispers.

Dude I always love your attention to detail. I think you hit the nail on the head. I don't really see how it could be anyone else plus it would be perfect in telling a story that gives REAL consequences for player actions and not just player actions but the whole player base. Man wouldn't it be neat that those that sided with Pendragon could actually meet up with him and do voyages for him in his quest for revenge and those that chose Flameheart would get Flameheart specific voyages but could not do Pendragon quests.

Personally if we’re gonna talk about Pendragon I wouldn’t think he would ally himself with the dark brethren, pendragon‘s personality always had this air of nobility even after coming to the Sea Of Thieves and losing the title of sir, he always acted like a “sir” there’s a sense of honor and duty in the area of responsibility both with the pros and cons if the dark brethren came to him and offer him this idea it would probably go against his personal values, just my pov on that idea, personal I feel like the pirate lord may actually have more of a hand in this distraction then anything, but that’s a minor isea

I've always been a LITTLE bit confused on something. This doesn't relate really to the topic of this video, of course, but my main question is - Do Pirates of the Caribbean and Sea of Thieves share the same universe/timeline? I would assume not, but even still. I imagine that if they do, the Pirate's Life tall tales would take place following Pirates 5. Jack sails on his beloved ship the Black Pearl to a "Rondevu beyond my beloved horizon," who then finds a mystical treasure and makes it to the Sea of Thieves. Makes sense. And in the post-credits scene, it is revealed that Davy Jones may not be as dead and gone as we thought and that he may have somehow returned. Obviously, this could be a set up for Pirates 6, but it would also make sense timeline-wise as, now that Jones is back, he too could show up in the Sea of Thieves. And then the Tall Tales happen and we await Pirates 6. But... I'm just not sure if they even share the same universe like a lot of my friends do or if they follow the same canon (no pun intended). Because, assuming the Pirate's Life tall tales take place in between Pirates 5 and 6, that would mean that Davy Jones would have to somehow find a way out of the Sea of the Damned in order to come back for Pirates 6. Again, it's all a bit of a stretch, but I'm starting to think that they're not in the same story. SO! It would be very kind if someone could give me a solid YES or NO answer for whether they share the same universe OR if you are just as confused as I am... (Listen captain-my-captain, I'm coming to you for the lore here...)

I think Davy Jones throws a wrench into this theory because he wasn't exactly an outcast *of* the Sea of Thieves when he founded the Dark Bretheren to conquer the Sea of the Damned and install himself as the new Ferryman *and* Pendragon helped defeat him. I think he moreso just sought out the more "outcast" type of characters that would have a good reason to go against pretty much EVERYONE in the SoT. I also doubt that a character like Pendragon would blame the Sea of Thieves as a whole because it's not like the Pirate Lord, Belle, or anyone outside of the Reapers actually betrayed him. He shouldn't have any resentments towards them, since they didn't do ANYTHING against him. Yes, we as the players had the choice and people that regularly side with Athenas swapped and sided with Reapers just to bring Flameheart back, but lore wise, I doubt that's going to translate to "Athena's Fortune betrayed Pendragon" especially when it pretty much immediately resulted in all-out war between the two factions. On top of that, considering he's directly in multiple Tall Tales as a legendary heroic figure, I doubt Rare would want to change that image of him. It would confuse newer players seeing him as a villain in one part of the game, but an ally when doing other parts.

I called Pendragon switching sides ages ago and it really wouldn't suprise me, he's gave it all TWICE and lost it all TWICE, I doubt the legend in the prison is the Captain because the brethren would want to release him surely not leave him to rot? I think myself that the legend is the Gold Hoarder now he's been killed proper (his head is a staff now, he's not coming back) and it would make sense that the insider have something to do with the gold hoarders if the vault that's been built has anything to do with it

Are the storylines worthwhile and able for a solo new player? I just started playing and getting through the love/hate phase and trying to learn how to play and learning how much content is available is exciting yet considering how ruthless players are it’s not fun to spend so much time trying to figure out riddles etc only to lose it all and get absolutely nothing. So many players are immature and toxic it can take the fun out of it.

But what if the true rat is actually Belle? Think about it. She's been there every step of the way, every adventure, typically being a third party to guide you along. She remains even after Pendragon sacrificed himself to try and save the seas, and was even the one you spoke to and got sent off by to do the thing with the sea forts. If anyone would have the chance to feel betrayed, who knows of everything the pirates did, who has access to the sea of the damned without the need of a veil or a skull on a disney stick, it would be Belle. She could've even been manipulating the denizens in sea of thieves the entire time, convincing the pirate lord to unshroud golden sands to cover up the brethren assembling their skull stick portal device. goading pirates into resurrecting Flameheart by telling them how the sea forts tie in to distract the pirate lord. Giving the pirate lord the Veil to strengthen him, all so Flameheart and Ramsey would be so busy destroying each other in a pointless war while she and her dark brethren strengthen themselves unnoticed. It fits, if you line up the pieces.
