As a giant pirate crossover, first with Pendragon, then with Jack Sparrow, I fully expect Peter Pan and Hook to make appearances at some point. Hopefully not the Disney ones, I'm more pushing for some appearances more closely-aligned with the pre-Disney-fied fairy tales.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding what Hook would be if it was indeed him. I think it's likely it wouldn't be just the Disney version, but moreso a composite amalgamation of the various Hooks throughout the adaptations of the original work, and said original as well. If there is influence from the Disney version, I hope that would specifically be some kind of vocal nod to Hans Conried, as his performance was so perfect that I forever associate him with the character. Also, manipulation also fits very nicely into a Hook reveal. In the original story and adaptations, Hook is especially clever and cunning with how he manipulates the people around Peter. Him trying to rally the Sea's pirates against Ramsey (and also Flameheart, I imagine, to ensure no competition) would be entirely in character.

I severely doubt it's going to be Hook from the animated film if it is him. Judging by how he addresses people and the fact that he was the previous captain of the Burning Blade AND cursed Flameheart Jr, I doubt it's going to be the same pirate who got coerced by children into calling himself a codfish as well as screaming "SMEEEEEE" everytime he was in particular danger. They're not going to make him a joke; not with the intimidating reputation they've been building for him in-game.

Hook is a really good villain, in fact, the first iteration of the captain was far more cruel and insane. If they bring him into the sea of thieves, theres a good chance that it won't be the one from Disney, but more something coming out of the 2003 movie made by P.J Hogan (a version of Hook that is targetting to be more accurate to the original story)

I'd be fine if Hook got added to the game but if he turned out be the Cap'n, the big bad villain who scares even Flameheart that the game (and extended universe) has been building up to for years since the game released, I'd be pretty disappointed. I want the Cap'n, and the mystery of who he is, to be tied to the game world itself rather than having a completely new character being brought in. I personally think the captain is going to be revealed to be a well known pre-existing character in a surprising turn of events so I doubt it's Hook Ramsey on the other hand...

As much as I want ramsey to be the capn, Im pretty sure they wont do that. They’d have to remove his cinematics from the lotv, the captaincy tutorial, and a few tall tale parts. I guess they could replace him with Belle which would be pretty cool but still unlikely sadly.

I think it's possible that Tony is in on Demarco's death and deliberately put the people who Ramsey hired to kill him on his ship but other than that I doubt he's that bad (so long as he stays away from potentially flamable buildings of course).

I am in the middle on this. If they do bring Hook in, I hope they make him a more fairy tale like Hook and not like the Disney hook. I also don’t want them to leave the current story in the dust again. We’re finally building to something, I don’t want a detour from it. Hook also being the big bad after Flameheart would suck if it’s the Disney version, but we’ll see what happens. I trust Rare TLDR: I hope they do it right or else it would kinda stink

If you find Captain Hook's Introduction from Peter Pan 1953, word Cap'n appears a few times. To find more probably should do a full rewatch of entire cartoon. So I guess, would not be a surprise if its our Sea of Thieves Capn. Also, Captain Hook cartoon character is owned by Disney (or maybe by public now, don't know). Rare with Disney are partners after all, so legally should be no issues either.

It would be really awesome if it really is Captain Hook! I love his extravagant aesthetics and Lore. But I might add: In "Peter Pan" it is said that Hook was 1. "Blackbeard's Bosun" and 2. "the only man, of whom Barbecue was afraid" (Barbeque is the Nickname of Long John Silver from Treasure Island.) So, if it really is Captain Hook, it more or less makes the existence of folks like Blackbeard, Long John Silver and Captain Flint, Jim Hawkins and so on canon to the SoT. Blackbeard being canon to the Pirates of the Caribbean- franchise as well, has an even higher chance of showing up in the future somehow. I really want to see the epic clashes between those legendary captains, it would be so cool.

Admittedly I had a feeling we'd get Captain hook ever since that secret message you can find in the cave within one of the PoTC tall tales. He's a famous Pirate. They were talking about some Captain. SoT now has a tie in with Disney and the Disney universe. After giving the fans the BIGGEST crossover they wanted. It'd make sense for them to go on and release another. Being a huge fan of the Kingdom hearts games (Or at least the earlier ones). I'd love to see a deeper dive into that side. And while I do definitely appreciate SoT having more Original content. I can't say it doesn't tickle that Childhood of mine.

I want it known, Fairies draw their power from more then just the Sun. Hell the most relevent fairy to a pirate/sailor setting like Sea of Thieves besides Tinkerbell is the Silkie that has the ability to change between a Human and a Seal aka Sea Dog form and they actually gained their power from the moon.

I do hope so, but didn’t you forget something, there’s a ship wreck in the pirates life area, whose captains quarters and more specifically the captains chair, I’m not saying it is the Jolly Roger but, it does bare a striking resemblance to Captain Hooks chair seen in the films. I know im late to the party here because i just got back into SoT after a couple of years. But one thing i noticed that i dont think many people are pointing out another clue with the note that the captain sent to Davy Jones. In the top right where the skull icon is, you can see what appears the be a large feather poking out. This JUST SO HAPPENS to be another key feature of captain Hooks design. But it must be just a coincidence right??
