I just learned the story of St. Anthony the Great and the creation of prayer ropes. He used a string with simple knots to keep track of his praying routine but demons would untie the knots by night so an angel appeared to him and taught him a knot with 7 crosses in it and the demon could not untie the knots from then on. It is still used in prayer ropes to this day. He was a hermit who lived in a cave. There is a thick culture of going into the wilderness to fight demons through fasting and prayer in early Christianity

Spirits are powerless to move or even touch the physical realm. It's one of the reasons they are so angry. Those called demons were cast out of heaven (by us) and forfeited their chance to ever receive physical bodies. Plenty of angels can touch, feel and move physical objects because many of them were former inhabitants of earth.

There is a wondrous common thread running through everything, from "old tyme fables" to Missing 411 to fasting experiences in the wilderness and combatting demons and other non human creatures with the name of Christ. It is my strong notion that the "system," the earthly power establishment which is spoken of in Ephesians 6:12, is seemingly tasked with doing all things possible via sorcery (much of which only need be semantic in nature, the changing of meanings and expressive intent) and other manipulations to confuse and confound man and separate him from his Creator, natural state and potential. I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said many times before, but that's kind of the rub, we are always subject to misdirection as well as missing the forest for the trees etc. What a thing it is to be alive, don't you agree?

Love it! We here in Latvia have a mythological creature called "sumpurnis" , and it seems to be similar to a North American cryptid "dogman". What is interesting, in almost all legends, it is specifically told, that a sumpurnis is not a werewolf, since werewolf is a man capable turning to wolf and not necessarily evil, while the sumpurnis(dogman?) is an evil creature and sworn enemy of mankind and use to even have kingdoms, from where they use to raid human settlements.

When one sees repeated similarities in reports, overlapping various cultures and spanning massive time periods, all deemed primitive superstitious nonsense by our mainstream arbiters of reality descriptions, I think it's very wise to take note of this. Kinda like The Flood, for instance. It's a reasonable hypothesis that it's the same flood being mentioned by disparate cultures. Not a "coincidental myth" spanning the ancient world. It's a silly attitude, because the level of unacknowledged fantasy in our modern daily lives is through the roof.
@customsongmaker3 жыл бұрын
Not only do cultures around the world have flood myths, several of them include the detail that there was no rain before the flood, and that the sky was lower to the ground (constant heavy clouds). The earth and sky were husband and wife, hugging closely, until the sky was taken away. Rain is the sky's tears which didn't exist before. The Bible says there were no rainbows before, and that human lifespan was immediately shortened afterwards (the primary cause of aging is the sun's radiation which would have been filtered by the clouds). Then there are the myths about humanity surviving underground, or about giants living in caves, or about monsters that only come out at night. If the pre-flood humans wanted to continue living without direct sunlight, they would have to go underground. That is also the only place giants could have survived, if all land on the surface was flooded.

My oldest daughter has the ability, if one can call it that, of seeing spirits. It troubles her sometimes. What troubles her more is not being believed, which is why she tends to keep it to herself mostly. I know the spirits are there but I cannot see them. They do have the ability to appear when they want but are upset when someone can see them even when they wish to stay hidden. What people call "haunting" is actually the manifestation of the evil spirits that were cast out of the pre-existence (heaven) by us. This is where they were sent and they're not too happy about it. Due to this war in heaven those who followed Satan forfeited their chances of ever getting bodies. This is why they are so malevolent. They want revenge because that is their nature. They can masquerade as departed loved ones or even angels but the difference is clear. It is they who tempt us. Places aren't haunted, people are. Those who go looking for these spirits will usually find them for they are always eager for the chance to inhabit a body and those who go seeking evil are usually seduced by it. We would all do well to stay very clear of these malevolent failures if we want to have happiness and avoid chaos in our lives. Nothing good can come of interacting with them. It is very important to understand that these spirits are absolutely not the spirits of the dead. These spirits have never been alive in the sense of having bodies. Any interaction with them is liable to end in sadness, regret and pain. If they appear and you wish them gone you must order them away in the name of the savior Jesus Christ. This will make them angry but they are compelled to comply. I hope this information will help those who heed my words and provide you with some peace in dealing with these terrible spirits. God bless you.

We call the little elves living in the woods as 'bunian'. They even have their own community living in their own villages in their own dimension parallel to ours. They're synonymous to one of the many kinds of _jinns_ , although they're mostly harmless, unless you trespass their territory or offend them somehow. Hikers who go off-trail and got lost without a trace are usually victims of _bunians_ hiding them from the human dimension. Victims who were finally returned to our dimension often said that they experienced a different timeflow than ours (eg: they went lost for 3 months, but claimed that they felt it has only been 3 days since they were lost). If you went into the woods, be mindful of your behaviour. They don't like noisy crowds, destructive/ inappropriate acts and don't just go piss on some random trees instead of the river. And don't challenge them, mock them or call them out, they're quick to anger. Remember, the woods are their territory, and you're passing through their ancient lands. You're far from home, and just like coming into other people's house, the last thing you should be is a disrespectful fellow.

Having studied comparative mythology, folklore and religions, I can safely say mostly ALL mythological figures from Sasquatch to little people to Shadow people to UFOs translate worldwide, they're just provided different names from a slightly different angle of perspective. And these entities translate all boundaries long before wide spread migration, colonization and cultural sharing. (according to current official timelines) And some of those entities listed above may hold connections to archaic Hominins/Hominids. Whatever these entities are, still existing or once existing, they're encoded into our inherited genetic ancestral memories. As for the specifics... I think I'll save that for my own intellectual property. But if you're just discovering and delving into this phenomenon on a world wide scale, you're in for a heck of a ride ;) I think the "Rake" is a pop culture variation of the Wendigo, but it was also mistakenly merged with the Leshy of European lore, due to pop culture.

A Cree Kimuc found me in my 20's. Crazy experience. Still a crazy experience.🤣Terrifying, Amazing, Cold, Unbearably Warm, and literally more answers than can be healthy on topics people contemplate in secret. Satan is a funny topic in those circles. Demons, The Wendigo. I like the accuracy with which you presented the Wendigo here. Fantastic work. The stories are being convoluted as the people recover from what happened. Its really important these ones are kept accurate. Its struck me how much these final indigenous groups had to their traditions that coincide and straight up are entwined with ours(Christian). Its creepy. The stories answer alot of questions that create conflict. Its odd considering the malicious supernatural element. Nonsense?....they, the Cree were not decimated. This speaks to their status, The Cree, according to what is rarely even known by english speakers now, are very special. They were'nt decimated as they are crucial to Earths health but what they were given to carry, a part of them, the memory of 'Our' shared, near timeless heritage is really fricken dangerous to the agenda of 'Evil'. Everything changes once these stories are brought to bear for everyone to choose to understand or not. Have you heard the story of the Red Man? Its a Northern Cree creation story focussing on the creation of Man by the Spider Woman before there was anything but the fire and what she drew from it. It's probably the most controversial, dangerous, and important story out of the North. Heres some background, He was gleefully named the Red Man because of the colour his skin turned in the Sun, he was the first child of the Mother we all ultimately share. This name and everything else he had as an only child was stripped and given to his younger brother when he came along, the one we now call Red Man. My jaw dropped as I'd read the original Black Sea Scroll account of Jacob and Esau's relationship. The correlations between this story that comes from the Plains Cree and was only known to a few, in a dying language and this story of equal importance on the formation of the first biblical tribes is undeniable. How it was soured, the physical descriptions of the two, their roles, and then I got to Esau's second name....The Red Man😱 Unreal. The implications. What we know about how the different groups of humans developed on Earth. Esau was left to wander while he cared for his brothers needs, the Fire Bringer if you ask the one who sits beside the river and is nothing, if you know what I mean. 😂Man. The things that are available to know.🤣

Excellent video. One of the more fascinating concepts, in my opinion, is that these beings are NOT entirely spiritual, or weren't always. While the RCC contends that angels are non-corporeal, they are often presented as doing very physical things, such as eating in the story of Lot and generally moving about as men would. However, they have a habit of "appearing" suddenly, which is consistant with the resurrected Christ, who appeared in a room with his Apostles, even though the door was not opened, and yet was physically inspected and asked to eat. This would imply that such beings have bodies, but they transcend our understanding. This is consistant with many beliefs around the world regarding supernatural beings, from certain views on Fairies, to certain tribal beliefs on Sasquatch: they can come and go. As for demons, if the belief that "death is the wage of sin" is applied, they may be dead in their own right, or in a state of dying.

From what I understand, in Genesis 6 when the Sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they had children together, the offspring is referred to the Nephilim. Due to the Nephilim not being a creature ordained by God they are neither human nor angelic, but hybrid. Hence they don't go to heaven when they die, or hell, but are condemned to roam the earth as spirits, still consumed with the desires of flesh... hence their desire to inhabit anyone who would let them in... There is so much to our history we just don't understand. I love the process of discovery though, which is why I enjoy your work so much! Please continue this series, it is fascinating.

I find contrasting unwilling/violent possession (which is also seen in some oriental/far east myths) with willing/enlightening possession to be quite fascinating. Willing possession is much rarer, and is quite notable in some faiths such as those descended from Vodun practice, such as the more commonly referenced Voodoo. Notably Voodoo as seen in the Louisiana region is often blended with and influenced by Catholicism to the point that some saints have joined the Loa of the older tradition. Another widespread commonality is that of those whom work with herbs and traditional healing being able to become corrupted, often gaining the powers of shape-shifting and curses alongside their inherent knowledge of poisons making them terrifying figures to cross. Among the big hitters of this archetype are corrupted Druids, Voodoo Priests, and Shaman in the vein of Skinwalkers. Notably all of these also tend to have some relation to faith and nature, implying some kind of spiritual poisoning of what was otherwise wholesome or innate. There's also of course the image of the Witch that can blend both this corrupted 'Wise One' with an evoker of spirits and the 'dark' arts of magic. These depictions also tend to come from faiths which revere multiple gods, though the strength of each god may vary. Meaning there is some risk that conquest by monotheistic peoples may have influenced this turning of otherwise Sage figures into horror inducing and predatory traitors to their kin. Never the less the cultures from which you see communion with and/or willing possession by supernatural beings are also the ones where you find these tales of otherwise skilled and trusted practitioners of some ancient and vital knowledge becoming corrupted. Almost like a warning against delving too deeply after powers/knowledge outside mortal means. The question is if that's a cautionary trope, or a sign that the path of corruption may be pathed with ambitious and good intentions.

I remember one point in my life I was depressed and just in a dark place. One mourning a loud deep voice of a man woke me up. He told me to go into the kitchen and get a knife and kill my 2 sleeping sisters and mother. I laughed at him and told him to screw off and went back to sleep. Before that scary mourning, I had never ever heard a disembodied voice in my life and even after that scary mourning to this very day I still never heard a disembodied voice to this day. It was just once, so I don't think I had a schizophrenic break cause I'm fine mentally currently and never need to seek mental health help and medication.

@HammersonPeters3 жыл бұрын
Great point. I hadn't thought of that one. I think that sleep paralysis, in other traditions, has been blamed on evil spirits called 'succubi' and 'incubi'.
@Boss_Man003 жыл бұрын
I’ve had issues with “sleep paralysis”, except when I felt and saw the figure on top of me I guess I was trying to sit up but couldn’t. My dog started barking like crazy, and my mom walked into the room, wondering what was going on to make the dog bark like that and turned the light on. When she did I was instantly woken up and my feet and legs were dangling off the bed. I guess I had pushed my body down about 2’ by trying to sit up over and over again. Now, that doesn’t fit with the scientific definition of sleep paralysis, in which they say the body is paralyzed, I think they say your mind is not completely sleeping but your body still is. But I was clearly moving my body? I’ve never heard of any sleep paralysis stories in which the person was actually physically moving. Thank god it doesn’t happen anymore, that was a scary time. I believe it was spirits, whether it was a succubus or incubus or just another spirit, I’m not sure. I just know when I hear scientists explaining sleep paralysis it really bothers me, they just make up some new “illness or medical condition” for things they don’t fully understand. It’s pretty easy to make up some scientific bs reason for y things happen.

Schizophrenia can be induced by heavy stress at any age technically, although it is most common in younger individuals. My friends Grandmother developed schizophrenia after her grandson was murdered by another boy while she was babysitting him for her daughter/the boy’s mother. The Grandmother had so much guilt thinking it was her fault that she very quickly descended into severe schizophrenia, the medication cannot even keep up with it as it constantly is being increased to try to keep her calm and as normal as possible.

This person, was emphatically not human. This person was having a temper tantrum. I feel relatively sure that, had he not been overcome by emotion, he would have been non- visible to me. I also feel it is reasonable to assume that this fellow was partially human, way way back in his lineage. I think of this species as midwayers. Midway between species. Human and something else, which has the ability to be invisible. Take it, or leave it. I know what I saw in broad daylight, maybe 30 feet away.

A side note on the strength thing. Humans only use about 11-12% of our strength. Our brains place limiters on our behavior to prevent us tearing our muscles and tendons off our bones. If someone has a "negative manifestation" lets call it, and the limiter gets ramped up to 20-25% the person would indeed seem to have superhuman strength. If the limits were removed completely they'd tear their own body apart. Think the scene in Ghost in the Shell where Major Kusanagi is trying to rip that hatch off the top of the robo spider near the end. Yes, you could do the equivalent to your own body, though the pain would probably stop you before you succeeded fully.

Although angels are spiritual beings, they can assume human bodies. Not only the tale of the Book of Enoch, the Old Testament tells us that people have entertained angels without knowing. Lot had angels in human form as visitors when he lived in Sodom. The difference with the fallen ones, is that the good angels aren't allowed to reveal themselves to us and interfere with us in a direct manner (identifying themselves to us).

Maybe the same beings called Fae in one area might be Djinn in the Middle East in some cases. Also the concept of how a lion and a house cat are both cats but are different species. Perhaps there's a definite hierarchy of power within this other world that humans either don't know or forgot.

Considering the unbalanced being open to malicious influence... It's easiest to behave abnormally and poor judgement mistakes when one is confused, grieving, in shock or otherwise compromised. It's not a stretch for a colloquial society to associate abnormal/dangerous behavior as possession either (there is rare but substantial evidence to suggest this might be the case - although most of my first-hand encounters with abnormal phycology had physical causes. Not all of them.). A Buddhist monk/college administrator once advised me that centering oneself gives balance (he didn't think any one method worked for everyone), and that balance provides strength for dealing with darkness and aids health. Seek and find, focus on beauty and wise advice. Also, he thought getting a full physical exam regularly was a good idea.

Tales of similarities? Have you explored stories of the Swamp Woman in Abenaki folklore, Jenny Greenteeth of the British Isles and the River Woman in Mexico and the American Southwest? They lure children, mostly boys, into various bodies of water to drown them. Are they stories invented to keep kids away from water?
@maddockemerson46033 жыл бұрын
Yes. Yes, they are stories invented to keep kids away from water, among other things. The various siren-type myths scratch several itches at once: the notion of beautiful women bathing in the wilderness where there’s nobody to interrupt or judge you is an appealing fantasy, especially for men and boys; the twist that they want to kill you makes it potentially scary so the story can fulfill different moods or genres, adds a conflict which is essential for storytelling, and serves as a parable about immoral women whose primary weapon is temptation rather than brute force, or a moral to simply not go into unsafe waters alone.

They are also described as Ice Giants at times. Like with the Norse Jotunnr, and Old English Eoten( giants, but both words literally mean eaters. As in Eaters of men). In a Great Lakes Ojibwe legend: a little girl becomes an ice giant incarnation Wendigo. A Thunderbird in else wise carnation, gives the hero two copper rods to slay the rampaging giant. It is slain, and in it's melting torso the dying body of the little girl is recovered. An account from a library book ( on Great Lakes Algonquin tribes) in my youth. Modern Psychiatrists, ascribe the Wendigo to a cabin fever/winter psychosis. It is interesting that Thor is the slayer of man eating Giants. Again in in N. America, the Thunderbird slays monsters of all sorts with lightning bolts. But especially Wendigos.

@BUBBLESPOGO3 жыл бұрын
@@midnightsentry84 Hi Marc It's true that severe mental illness with tendency towards the bizarre and demon possession can be confused at times. It's interesting to note that in The Bible, people clearly understood when people were possessed and when they were just sick. The wicked spirits have a distinct calling card when they attack and torment a human, animal, or their presence in general. Also, the indigenous peoples religious ceremonies were, and still are, very spiritistic in ritual. Deuteronomy 18;10-13. So persons practicing such things would be more prone to Harrassment by them. As the Creator's intelligent human creation, different people's of different races could be able to discern the difference. They have assigned wendigo, sabe, skin walker, and different names particular to their countries and to their encounters and experiences. They just did not know what they were experiencing and who they were dealing with like many others persons today. The Bible states that the rebellious angels have been confined to the earth's vicinity. It is unnatural for the demons to be here confined to the earth in the same vicinity where mankind live, but the Bible states that is the case. Revelation 12:7-17. They hate mankind and all of God's creation and thus one can get a glimpse of their modus operandi in the historical accounts as well as the many experiences listed in the comments section in our modern day, which matches similarly to the accounts noted in the Bible. All cryptids, UFOS, sasquatch, dogmen, and forth are the unclean demonic spirits, no exceptions. Their ability to materialize and live in a human body and procreate was taken away from them at the time of the Great Flood. These other deceptive cryptid forms they appear as are always monstrous, keeping in line with the demons calling card to terrorize and murder God's creation. It's interesting that they appear in these forms and then disappear. It may seem that they are physical beings but mankind will never be able to fully understand this deceptive ability. But again, the forms are used to announce a demon's presence, to terrorize and deceive mankind. Murderous Cannibalism and other horrendous acts are clear signs of their presence, along with the deceptive cryptid manifestations. This is not surprising since the Bible states in 1 John 5:19, that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. The Bible also states that Satan has blinded the minds of unbelieving mankind so that they don't know the great issue of God's Sovereignty and the Kingdom Government, which is mankind's only hope to be rid of the wicked spirits unclean presence for good, and all the trouble they have wrought on the human race. Psalms 37;10-11, 29. They oppose the Creator and do everything and anything they can to deceive mankind. One of their greatest deceptions is to get people to believe they don't exist. This allows them to operate unhindered. Soon they will be dealt with and obedient mankind will finally get relief from their unclean, wicked presence in the earth. Psalms 37;10-11, 29. Persons should be looking into the Creator's Holy Word to find out how they can protect themselves from them and understand the hope for mankind's future prospects under God's Kingdom Government rule. Matthew 6:9-10, John 17:17, Daniel 2:44, Matthew 24:14.

Some simple explanations of mine for these traits: Speaking in tongues: Being unable to understand someone is very uncomfortable, so the idea that some evil spirit is speaking a language not only you don't know, but absolutely no one knows, is even more unsettling. Supernatural strength: This is a very easy one. If it wants to harm you, it can and will. That's also a way to assert dominance in a malevolent way. Clairvoyance: Probably the scariest of all of these. Something knowing what it shouldn't be able to not only makes it dangerous, but mysterious. It also takes away all sense of privacy. Essentially, fears that are really easy to think up for any culture that suspects some evil spirit is afoot. They're flexible enough to apply almost anywhere but concrete enough that slight similarities can be used to make a point.

"To admit that some people literally have no conscience is not technically the same as saying that some human beings are evil, but it is disturbingly close. And good people want very much not to believe in the personification of evil." “After listening for almost twenty-five years to the stories my patients tell me about sociopaths who have invaded and injured their lives, when I am asked, “How can I tell whom not to trust?” the answer I give usually surprises people. The natural expectation is that I will describe some sinister-sounding detail of behavior or snippet of body language or threatening use of language that is the subtle giveaway. Instead, I take people aback by assuring them that the tip-off is none of these things, for none of these things is reliably present. Rather, the best clue is, of all things, the pity play. The most reliable sign, the most universal behavior of unscrupulous people is not directed, as one might imagine, at our fearfulness. It is, perversely, an appeal to our sympathy.” ― Martha Stout, The Sociopath Next Door
