Kyuho's mother is such a delight. I really enjoyed her little Chuseok section. The way she said 꼬치 was so cute ♥ I feel so lucky that I never had any side effects from getting covid shots. I hear a lot of people who say they were sick and tired and some even had a slight fever! Maybe because I had covid a few months before I got vaccinated. And I did get heart arrhythmia from covid and I also get out of breath going up the stairs now - like so out of breath that I need to sit down otherwise I get really dizzy and feel like I'm gonna faint. I also got pneumonia 3 months after having covid even though I've never had any respiratory problems in the past. It really did wreck my whole body. Even my memory has been totally shot since then but Idk if it has anything to do with covid or not. It's a really scary disease for sure. I hope you and Beemo feel better soon! And omg you're watching Downton Abbey?! I watched it in highschool and I was so addicted to it. I really didn't like Anna's storyline in season 4...it was very traumatic to watch that for me. But all in all, the show was so good and I also went to watch "Downton Abbey - the movie" in the cinema in dec 2019 just before the world shut down due to covid. The movie was so moving, I cried like a baby.

Your great aunt sounds like the sweetest person! So sorry for your loss. And get well soon, Beemo! 🌷 My cat had similar symptoms (constantly throwing up, diarrea, constipation, bellyache) for a long, long time until I stopped giving him food with grains and beef. I hope you find Beemo's triggers soon! I had fever and severe pain in the injection site for 3 - 4 days after my second shot. One and a half weeks later, I had increasingly worsening headaches that did not get better after taking multiple painkillers as well as mild chest tightness + trouble breathing at night. It lasted almost another week.

Ikseon-dong is my favorite place to visit. We had the most awesome souffle pancakes at Dongbaek Bakery. We also visited the same tea cafe that Kyuho stopped at in Bukchon Village. Sorry to hear about your grand aunt's passing Sarah. We still have to take my father-in-law's ashes to Hawaii to be buried. (He passed away in March this year.) poor bimo hope he feels beter soon. one of my stray kittens is not good she is so thin and looked like she was dehydrated she got fluides and glucose and now im giving her urgent care a/d food. hope she will be getting beter soon. it's has been a hard couple of weeks 2 weeka ago one of my dogs got poisend and we had to rush her to the vet man that vet bill was huge but she is ok now. take care lots of love

Oh, Sarah, I feel the exact same way about Downton Abbey. It is so heart warming and comforting. I can't even express how much I love this show. And I do watch it when I am stressed sometimes - the last time I rewatched all seasons was when I got covid and were sick in bed for 2-3 weeks. Definitely made me feel better and released the stress. My brother also had myocarditis. (Doctors were hesitant to say it was due to the vaccine but it occurred after the shot.) Doctors had him on medication for 3 months until he cleared up.

I found your comments about urban living versus ex-urban living interesting. My daughter and son-in-law out in Portland, OR are saving for a move, and I asked if they were looking at towns outside the city that can be less expensive, higher quality of life. Their response is “we like living in the city.” They like the light rail, the variety of restaurants, the cultural variety, and the high percentage of college-educated young people.

We’re in the same boat as well I think 😄 The area where Kyuho’s parents live is nice, but it’s definitely more suited for families with kids, and the amenities in the area reflect that. We prefer living in Seoul as a childfree couple, since all our friends live here, there’s a lot more to do, see, and eat-plus the subway system is so well connected everywhere, we don’t need a car :)

I also had the chest tightness with my first shot only it was so bad I couldn’t drive home after getting it. Myocarditis is something that they’ve seen in generally younger males (I’m female) but here in the US at least they just told me it was anxiety and have told other women with the same symptoms the same thing but I KNOW it wasn’t that. I think it’s really something they need to study and figure out more. Even though the myocarditis isn’t too serious and clears up, it can have long term affects.

That’s EXACTLY what the ER told a female acquaintance of mine here when she came in with chest pain and other myocarditis symptoms. Luckily she didn’t take that for an answer and when to another hospital. Low and behold, tests showed something abnormal and it’s likely that. This is too commonly done when it comes to women’s pain…

It's been a tough week for you all. Sarah and Kyuho, I'm so sorry about the death of Sarah's wonderful Great Aunt. It's hard to be so far away at such a sad time. I'm also sorry that Sarah felt so unwell after her 2nd dose of vaccine, and I hope she is feeling better day by day. I hope Beemo is doing better. He is such a great kitty. A friend's cat here had similar symptoms. It turned out he had the cat version of celiac disease. Switching the cat's food to specialized foods that were free of gluten resolved the cat's problems. You might ask the doctor if this might be Beemo's issue. It's not that common in cats, but the solution is pretty simple (although unfortunately gluten-free cat food is more expensive). Sending you all best wishes - hang in there!

Hey I just wanted to say after getting the vaccine my asthma has returned after 15 years! I’ve also been having migraine attacks and numbness down one side since the vaccine.. I’m glad to hear more people talk about it and that the doctors listened to you as I got shut down quite a bit because it happened twice after my vaccine. Hope you feel better

I remember watching one of your Canada trip videos from a couple of years ago….you, Kyuho, your mama, and your relative were sitting at the kitchen table. Was that your Aunt Lois in that video? I truly hope you’re feeling better after your second vaccine. The chest pain sounds so scary. 😢 I’m so sorry about Beemo as well. I hope he’s feeling better! One of my dogs (not Mindy), but my other fur baby, has a bad tummy, and most recently we spent almost $1,000 US dollars for the IV, all of the tests, and special prescription diet foods and meds on him, so yes! Vet bills are no joke! I love the time that you both spend with Kyuho’s parents. Happy Belated Chuseok to you ALL. The table and the food that Kyuho’s mama prepares, always always looks amazing. Guess what…..”Machisoyo,” is my new favorite word to use at my favorite Korean restaurant. 🥰 Please take care! I truly hope that October will be less stressful for you both!

We all miss Lois so much. Sorry to hear about your pupper having tummy issues! It’s so expensive 😭 Vet bills are seriously noooo joke. I hope your fury friend is feeling better. Haha, that’s one of the first Korean words I learned-definitely one you’ll use a lottt eating Korean food 😁

Sorry you had such a stressful week. My husband and I got the Pfizer vaccine and we both were fatigued after. I also got the booster because I have a genetic immuno disorder and I was tired the next day as well. Hope you got all your work completed.
