A Successful Airline With A Bold Livery! The Condor Fleet In 2024

For decades, airlines have struggled to achieve sustained financial success operating long-haul, low-cost flights, given the ridiculously high costs associated with these flights. Nonetheless, a recent wave of airlines have found success with this kind of business model, which includes carriers primarily based out of Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
One of the many airlines that have succeeded in this market is German airline Condor, which operates a diverse network comprising leisure routes, medium-haul services to major cities, and some long-haul flights to underserved non-leisure destinations.

There is a reason for the stripes. The stripes represent those found on German beaches on beach towels, beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Very clever marketing, Condor.

An important factor in Condor's long-haul success is being able to take advantage of Lufthansa's carrier network which connects the entire continent to Frankfurt. This (along with the business model) then allows Condor to offer cheaper flights to niche or leisure destinations from Frankfurt. As the only long-haul competitor to Lufthansa left in Germany, being able to offer routes Lufthansa wouldn't be able to fly profitably is a good strategy to secure the company's future in this heavy competition.

Condor actually started off as a Lufthansa subsidiary, kind of what Eurowings is today. This history in part explains Condor's access to the Lufthansa network.

I flew Condor from Toronto in September, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a great product and I would 100% fly with them again!

I've never flown with Condor, but as an 'outsider' I think they do very well, and have a good product to offer. The interior looks very nice (A 330-900) and efficient. It took some time for me to get used to their new colour scheme, but I like it more and more! You can't miss it! It's finally something different in the world of aviation. My family and I had been on several Condor flights . One of the 1st once for my wife and me had been a flight to Funchal/Madeira in an B737-200 back in Feb. 1986. The fun part with that flight was the alternate approach from the west. I'm still smileing when thinking about that remarkable landing. Another flight worth remembering was one of the 1st flight of the B757-300 to Heraklion/Crete in the late 1990th. The plane had a few hours only on its clock.

I love seeing their planes overhead, brings me joy to see an interesting livery amongst a sea of boring, abstract, cowardly competitors. The first time I saw one, I was so intrigued, I immediately opened FR24 on my phone to see who the heck the operator was. My partner was not so excited, just saying "I guess it's cool..." lol.

I always had the impression that Condor was initially the charter , low cost arm of Lufthansa making use of mildly reliveried aircraft such as the DC-10-30s .

It was the "travel" airline from Lufthansa but they sold Condor a while ago and Lufthansa has now Discover Airlines in that role

We used to fly Condor regularly... but our distain for the Frankfurt airport has nudged us toward paying a bit more and using Amsterdam as our clutch location since we like Schiphol much, much more. However, recent increases in airport fee's there might start making it cost prohibitive and we might have to reconsider the torture of the Frankfurt Airport again. The airline was okay, legroom was bad... but I heard encouraging stuff about the new aircraft in that department.

I'm not a fan of the livery or interior, they have black and white striped theming and they give you striped pajamas making you look like a prisoner lol otherwise not bad service and offerings

For me it's exactly the opposite, but you seem to be one of the passengers that the crews don't like. As you call into the forest, so it echoes back.
