Have always liked fresh home grown vegetables .Not only do they taste better they also look better. I'm like you on the tomatos.Got to have tomato sandwiches now and then.I like cooking green tomatoes , floured and egg dipped then fried in bacon grease. I remember during my childhood eating "circus" peanuts . Back then they always were soft. Can't find them that way much anymore. Loved your road trip so thank you for letting us viewers come along for the journey. I do miss having the opportunity to shop at farmers markets as there are none close to where I live. Use to go to amish ones but do not have that trip (Oats Bus) available anymore. May God bless you and yours and once again thank you .🙂

My maternal grandparents would always take us on road trips to the country, because my grandmother would always tell us that you have to know where you came from in order to know where you're going in life! On these trips the treat for us was to go to the meat market and get us some bbq! The fresh fruits and vegetables you were buying from the farmer's market, we had to go and pick these items from the fields! LOL Everything you just bought with exception of the watermelon jelly, we got from my grandparents families, because all of them didn't move to the city! I say all this because you have taken me once again down "Memory Lane"!! P.S. The BBQ was our treat for picking all the things my grandmother wanted! 😉✌❤🙏🤣🤣🤣 I'm sorry that I didn't say where we went! If it's my mom's side of the family it's Giddings, Tx! If it's my dad's side it was Yoakum, Tx! Both sides of my family believed you should know where you came from in order for where you are going in your life!

Chef Jeffery, we are 2 of a kind people here I love to go for a drive looking in the fields for what ever they might be growing. I have picked field peas, black eyed peas, corn, berries, squash tomatoes. and I don't ever forget my salt and pepper either. I love to just eat what I get while it is so fresh and full of all the vitamins and nutrients it's suppose to have... I believe that these stores are the best kept secret for finding things that other stores don't have or don't carries anymore. That tomatoes sandwich sounds great to have on a hot day. I was shocked when you said you drop your deer off for them to process. I didn't know you hunt deer . I tell ya , you do a little bit of everything!!! So use to picking from my mom's garden fresh veggies, but those days r gone, so I go to the Georgia farmers market here. I go north Georgia sometime to get fresh honey. Love my honey. They have the hives right there. I got to find me a fresh meat market closer, so I want have to go down town to the municipal market. Haven't seen those peanuts in years. Bought back memories. Chef Jeff I love your road trips I think I've told you I'm home bad so to watch you on the road trip to see the world outside a house is absolutely awesome. I used to go to the farmers market and The Butchers store all the time that was my grandma's place to get a lot of her good vegetables and meats and she just did things different than they are done now. We used to have a farmer's market downtown so we don't have one now I wouldn't even know where to go to a farmer's market maybe I can find out you've got me wanting some of that good stuff. I love yellow squash. I am actually growing some this summer and picked one off and cooked it for lunch today. It's to the point now that I do not like buying vegetables and cherries, pomegranates, figs blueberries pecans so I planted alot of the trees.
