A Sunday morning walkabout in the garden, enjoy!

Here ìn south Cheshire, we are enjoying a very warm spell, and have had no rains for 4 weeks. Thankfully, yesterday afternoon thunder and lightning herald the arrival of rains. This has definitely refreshed the plants and shrubs, however, today is hot and humid. Do enjoy!

Always love to walk in the morning. When I was a child, I seldom did that, as I loved sleep, a lazy bone like many others of my age then. But now I take it as an everyday routine, not that I have to wake up early due to work, but everything in the morning is like new and refreshing. I pay attention to the trees, shrubs, blooms, little insects and birds as long as I chance to see them on my way to office. Love your vid, Mag!

I'm thrilled you could join me on my walkabout. The health benefit of just stepping outside into your garden is immeasurable, to connect with nature; birds visiting and bathing in the ponds, dragonflies darting here and there, bees buzzing as they gorge themselves on nectar, and come sunset the bats fly in and out. Thanks Pip, the only drawback now is, it's too darn hot to sit outside. More rain is needed, lots of it!

I just got back in from a morning of watering and watching hummingbird flutter around as well. I was in my greenhouse (16x16x12) and playing with the orchids. I had to move a Phalaenopsis gigantea from a pot to a sturdy hickory mount. You have a great yard. One of my three Titan Arums did just peak out this morning after a long winter rest. Sooo cool to see someone growing Thistle. You put it in your garden here in the States and folks are like "you put in weeds?", and then you have to educate them.

I know, everyone thinks of thistles as weeds, but over the passed couple of years or more, we have come to love and appreciate them. They are a good deterrent for those who might venture too far into our garden! Happy growing J C and enjoy those wonderful humming birds.
