the epidendrum radicans needs a more normal potting mix with some perlite in it if growing in a pot. Orchid mix is ok too, but they are really tough orchids and will grow in the garden in full sun. Our summers are really hot and the winters near freezing in NSW. Drought tolerant as well. I grew mine in the garden and it thrived and made so many leikis. It had morning sun then afternoon shade. I mulched it and only watered it occasionally or it had rain, that's it.

Do you use grow lights on your orchids then please? And waht water and how often do you wwater? I am in the UK too, I have about 50 ATM

Did you place some of the older media from the original pot with the fresh media when repotting? I live in hardiness zone 10B Florida, USA and we've had a very wet summer. June, July, August every day rained but two days. There is no way I would reuse any organic media due to possible mold. Many of my fellow orchid friends have switched over to inorganic media without any orchid bark whatsoever.

So sorry to hear your news. Margaret’s orchids and garden tours were always lovely and so peaceful to watch as she walked around to show us her much loved plants. I never met her in person but she always answered my comments on her videos with good humour and patience.
