Having owned a trawler myself, I would recommend installing a simple seawater pump for the anchor chain cleaning and two, I would have a spare of the things that can stop you dead in your tracks if they fail. A starter, fuel pump, water pump etc. Congrats on getting the old girl's feet wet!

A ring type spray nozzle works really well. The nozzle is a complete circle that the chain passes through and it sprays all sides of the chain.

Congratulations to the entire crew that took on the monumental job of not only restoring the boat to working condition, but doing so in a way that ensures it will be around for a long time, and in a way that potentially has taught thousands of others the skills and thought processes that go in to a labor of love like BruPeg. On the water, getting comfortable with the systems and deficiencies. Mastering feathering the controls/steering to jockey Brupeg in reverse. There seems to be a minor misalignment of the anchor chain dropping into the anchor locker. The upright piece of deck pipe seems slightly forward of the chain falling off the windlass roller. A tendency to kink or bunch up, dropping at a slight angle. The chain does not naturally drop straight in. With Birk and Duncan gone, you and Jess can take a temporary celebratory break. Then start the small fixes, clean-up and reorganization. Afterwards moving forward with the Genset muffler, window installation, troublshooting engine gage issues, etc. The ability to anchor or hook up to a mooring. Testing the anchor in heavy winds and big sea fare soon with extra staff. Lots more sea trials, testing the various systems and getting baselines.

Your email sender is a classic case of if some people didn't have a life that sucked they wouldn't have one at all. Awesome to see Brupeg underway. Nice sounding diesel. Bump-n-Back works well since a single screw doesn't like to respond to rudder when in reverse. Back up, drift back, set rudder, forward to realign, back again, repeat ad-nauseum. Done it for years.
