Thailand has everything it needs-amazing food, warm and welcoming people, a strong industrial base, and financial resources. But the real challenge holding the country back from reaching its full potential is the state of its politics and leadership. We’re stuck fighting each other over and over, and every politician is corrupt. They don’t care about the countryside at all. Bangkok has everything, but head to the northeast and it’s like a completely different world. Sure, we have schools, but they’re not good enough to help kids become the future of the country. The law’s a joke-people who stage coups don’t go to jail, corrupt politicians don’t go to jail, but if someone’s accused of insulting the king, they’re locked up immediately. It’s so messed up.
