I had to laugh. Just like me every time I make a coffee, open a sandwich, or take a pee, the fish seem to bite. Things appear a bit slow in the bay at present but you got a feed. Like your wife I enjoy a feed of flathead and as you say, they are always a welcome catch. Good luck with the crabs on the next trip. Hi mate. What brand of rod holder did you change over to? Had a railblaza break (main bolt rusted through) fortunately had my hand on rod at time so didn’t lose a very expensive combo
