This is a great video mate. I spend a lot of time trying to research better ways to fish these exact spots, especially south west which has been my go to spot since i bought my boat earlier this year. After watching this, i feel like i need to switch up my spots a bit more, and i cannot wait for the next chance i get to go out there.

Thank you. South west rocks isn't a bad go to spot, I've caught a lot of meals there over the years. OTOH, there are so many other good spots in the bay it would be a shame not to try them.

I’ll be camping over there in a few weeks. Will hopefully try get some fishing in too.

If you are kayak fishing and camping in Horseshoe Bay then I suggest the eastern end of South West Rocks for reefies, or try the area between the Hole in the Wall and the Bluff for some whiting, bream and flathead.

Brilliant video mate, just a shame there was no on boat footage of you rigging, baiting and catching. Have a fantastic Christmas 2020 👌😎

Thank you. I did consider grabbing more footage I had previously put up but I decided that reusing footage wasn't good. If I had more spare time I would have gone through the albums to find some old stills but Christmas is super busy and I was keen to get the info up. Hope you have a great Christmas too.

Do you reckon I’ll be sweet in a 3.5 metre tinny and a 6hp to get there ??

A qualified yes. On a good day, no problem but that area between Cleveland and Peel can get rough real quick if the wind comes up, While you are out keep an eye on the wind and head back in if you even think it is picking up above the forecast. Also remember that wind against tide is rougher so a tide change can make a difference one way or the other. Try for a wind forecast below 10 knots, the less the better. Once you do a trip or two you will have a better feel for what you are comfortable with.

Great video mate, very informative. Thank you. Where you say drop offs?? Do you mean 4-5m roughly?? Thanks again. Merry Xmas.

Thank you. The depth varies around the island, I think some would be close to 10m. Basically a fairly sharp change in depth and then it pretty much levels out again.

No problem 👍 I don't really know why so many people think they are a big secret. There are literally hundreds of fishing spots around the bay. Even with a mark as a starting point I still have to sound around a bit to see if the fish are there today and maybe move on to another one if they are not. Good fishing.
