Quite a long but productive trip and I love to get a mixed bag too. The fife fish was a new one for me. Thanks for the vid and compliments of the season.

I'd only seen pictures of them and very mixed reports of their eating qualities. Now I know from personal experience. :-) Merry Christmas.

I love cobia too, I think it’s because they eat a lot of crustaceans

Thanks for sharing the video Paul. I always learn something new from your experience. Did you see any spotty mackerel bust ups on your way up or down inside Moreton Island? I am hoping to get out tomorrow and have a look around the shipping channels. Xmas lunch order for the family to be filled, no pressure. Cheers SS.

Thank you. No, I didn't see any bust ups or bird activity but I have heard there are plenty in the area. Best of luck. Merry Christmas.

Thanks for sharing, most appreciated. Brand new to the Bay, just bought a boat and yet to head out. Can I ask, reason for keeping Grinners?
@weFishAU19 күн бұрын
Thank you. I tried using grinners as bait and nothing would bite on them. I tried usung them for burley but it was worse than using my old bait so I stopped trying that. I still kept them out because I wouldn't want to put those vermin back alive. One evening I was short of bait to replenish my crab pots so I cut up the grinners I had and used them. The crabs loved them. So I keep them now and put half a mullet and a couple of grinners in them. Works a treat. The weather tomorrow isn't looking too bad, depending on where you are going.

Use twine :) where does the rubber bands end up?...
@weFishAU25 күн бұрын
Good point. I did a KZbin crash course on how to use it and everyone I saw was using rubber bands. I naver gave any thought to an alternative. Thanks.
