That was fun riding along with you; different than the hiking! The last time we were in the area, we hiked the old railroad path to Hoover Dam. It was a lot of fun walking through the tunnels and enjoying views of Lake Mead. Great Video!!

This area is one of the best in the country for ebiking. Besides the trail in this video, there's red rock canyon, valley of fire, great bike paths in Zion and Bryce, and great paths around Saint George including into Snow Canyon State Park. I spent an entire week there a few years back just tooling around the region with a bike and did something new every day.

My husband and I love our bikes! We are both 66, so it makes long rides accessible to us. We loved the Trail of the Coeur D Alenes from Plummer, ID to Mullen. My husband panics when we get below 65% power, so we pedal a lot! We are taking them south from Montana in April into Southern Utah/Arizona. 🤣

Thank you for hanging out in my town of BC. Early mornings when passing by St. judes on the bike path, you can frequently see big horn sheep. Well, I'm sure you're already out of the area for future reference, just South of Boulder City is nelson there are some amazing trails basically from Boulder City to the Mojave.

Tristan, my wife and I have enjoyed your adventures for quite a long time. Loved seeing you come to our town of Boulder City. I recognized where you were spending the night near Temple Bar Rd. If you travel just a bit North towards the lake there is a SUV trail named Cohenour Loop Road that you may enjoy. Also interesting is the Old Ranger Rd and hiking trail that will take you to the Colorado River with some interesting history. If you have moved on, maybe next time. Happy Trails.

Bike ride wise, a high degree of contrast ride is Lower tip of Manhattan / Battery park to Brewster, NY. Up the Westside highway bike path along the Hudson river, through the Bronx, and connecting to the South Country trailway - an paved rail trail. This goes through several large parks in the Bronx, and towns get smaller and smaller the further North you go. ~65/70 Miles 90/95% paved and off road. Once in Brewster you can hop on a train back to Manhattan / Grand Central.

Fun video. A bit surprised that with the high e-bike rental cost, the battery range was so limited. I own a 2018 Radpower cargo e-bike, and while it is over 5 years old and weighs 80lbs, I can easily go over 50 miles with about 1/3 of the battery left. Yes, I pedal all the time but use the pedal-assist#1. How do they rent e-bikes right on the bicycle loop, and it seems most folks would not make it back? The beauty of Las Vegas is how close nature is. Look at Red Rock Canyon Park, less than 5 minutes from the West side of town (Summerlin). You seemed to enjoy yourself here. That is great.

Boulder City was the construction camp for Hoover Dam, with no gambling or bars. Workers would go “off the reservation” to Railroad Pass for the drinking, gambling, and whoring. An excellent book on the construction of Hoover Dam is the Pulitzer Prize winning “Colossus” by Michael HILTZIK. On your left, the whole way around the loop are the River Mountains, some of the best desert hiking in the area. From May until September, don’t try this loop unless you want to die as it regularly is 105’F - 110’F, and the heat from the sun and bouncing off of the pavement will roast you well done. Quite s trip down memory lane. In 1984 I spent 6 months as an NPS patrol ranger working out of Las Vegas Wash Ranger Station. Lots of changes since then, including this wonderful trail built with funds from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Act (SNPLA) that skimmed money from the sale of isolated BLM parcels for real estate development, and funded a LOT of recreational facilities. Where did 40 years go?

It's crazy to think how much water humans were able to capture in Lake Mead so quickly with the lake near all time peak levels above 1200 feet just six years after completion in 1941. And what an incredible volume of water we've lost now that the lake is almost two hundred feet lower. Two hundred vertical feet of water. Everywhere. It's just crazy.

I use to ride the River Mountain Loop often. Doing it with or without the Hoover Dam ride was always a visual adventure on a road bike. I always enjoyed blasting down the three sisters section of the loop. Part of the ride experience was following the old railroad was the climb to the Bootleg Canyon Summit from Boulder beach. But the best part for me was the downhill descent from Bootleg Canyon Summit past the all most 100 year old Railroad Pass Casino. You missed Boulder City, and lunched on the cut-off approach. Next time please ride into Boulder City and enjoy the many delights the town offers. Was interesting to see you ride the loop backwards, sad you missed a lot of sections of the loop ride, but thank you for your time and efforts in making & posting this video. It brought back many road bike memories I enjoyed in my mid 60s before eBikes were readily available in shops and rental shops...

Kayak below the dam by taking a ferry up to it if you have not already. Also, while boondocking at Lake'Meads Government Wash can feel a bit busy, the next road (8 Mile Rd??) to the north is worth the wash board as it takes you to amazing cliffs to park on alone and stare out at the lake or jump in for a kayak,

I've done the part that connects to Lake Las Vegas, I used to live not too far from Lake Las Vegas. I only had a standard old mountain bike, and I'm not in shape to do the whole thing. Being in the environmental field I have researched and interested in the cost effectiveness pro's and cons of solar and wind energy which cannot compete with hydroelectric. This topic does apply to camping and surviving as you have experience using solar. This is my daily ride when it is above 68 degrees for me. I like seeing others take on the trail. Here is my take on the trail including the spur to Hoover Dam and coyotes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3uWcod7gNWFjqs

Those people in Bolder had a lot of dam jobs. 😂😂. And those dam workers lived in Bolder. 😂😂. The dam jokes could go on and on……

So cool! We watched a hike along the historic railway trail on Sidetrack Adventures You Tube channel. We thought that looks like a great place to take the bikes. And it is! Thanks for this!

Were you the only person on the bike trail? or did you edit the people out? The town of Seville Spain has tons of people biking even though they created the bike path only 4 ish years ago. 🤔🙃😉💌

Weren't you close to Red Rock Canyon? I would love to see you take a ride through the Valley Of Fire State Park, That's a beautiful place to visit. It's about an hour north of Vegas and they do have camping sites there.

Loved the roadrunner and the hot dog lady (and the hot dog!). I love bike riding and haven’t done it for a while so it was fun to ride along. I sort of wish the camera had been aimed a little higher because I didn’t need to watch handlebars and asphalt the whole way….it would have been nice to see more of the actual view that you were seeing. Otherwise, great!

When you park and camp are you just picking random places or do you have to get permission?

I wish I had known about this. It would have been fun to do on my recent trip to Vegas. I really enjoyed watching you do it though.

Please provide details of the location of the spots you visit. Showing with a big red dot on a US map hardly helps in understanding where the spot is.

Looks like the weather was cloudy - rain on the way ? (Yes it does rain in the desert sometimes). Boulder City to Lake Mead is quite a decline !

What a great adventure. Shame that the ebike was so expensive but this bike path just make the list of things to do!

I didn't know about that path, thanks for sharing. I don't get out on my bike enough because I don't like riding in the city but I could throw it in the truck and take it out here.
