I'm continually surprised by Maresca's tactical fluidity I keep expecting that rigidity he was criticised for at Leicester to crop up despite multiple instances when that opinion is proven wrong There's still lots of room to improve. I personally would like Nkunku to play alongside Palmer in the attacking midfield role. That, in my opinion would handily solve the issue of putting Gusto there when he's better in the overlap where Madueke's forced to be instead of cutting in like he's (Madueke that is) best at.

Chelsea is doing su much right, but there is one evident flaw at the moment: Gusto is a not a good enough finisher to be finding himself in attacking positions so often. His header in the first half is an example, but I think this has a fix: it’s time to put into discussion Madueke’s spot. I would drop him and play Felix or Nkunku instead (but I think the Portuguese is better suited). They obviously don’t play in the same position so it would require the system to be tweaked. When in posession if I were Maresca I’d ask Gusto to stop inverting and instead take up the wing, like a more traditional attacking fullback and as he did last season. Palmer would occupy the right half space (his preferred position, or at least where he played last year) and Felix could play in the left one, where he could link up with Neto, they seem to have a good understanding. So in posession the team would line up in a 3-2-4-1 with Gusto as the right winger instead of an attacking midfielder. In possession Palmer would be required to help Gusto on the right, getting back into Maresca’s 4-2-3-1. Let me know what you think

Palmer shouldn’t have been used in the left half space rather on the right. Nkunku should have come on for Jackson earlier. As for Arsenal, Odegaard and Saka are the only way they create chances and Saka wasn’t good in this match.

If Palmer occupies the right half space, either Gusto would be forced to the left half space or more likely Cucurella would be the one to invert. I think he trusts Cucu defensively better than Gusto. Besides Saka was the greater threat than Martinelli and thus required more focus.

Even though Cucurella had a great game(not bring dribbled past even once) most of Arsenal’s dangerous attacks came from his side. One player simply can’t cover the spaces that Arsenal’s most dangerous attacking threats, Saka and Ödegaard that is, created with their intelligent movement. Cucurella made the best he could out of a dire situation. Nevertheless, he kept getting into tough situations and couldn’t always come out on top in all of them due to it being almost, if not completely, impossible.

Someone had to be sacrificed for the balance of the team, if Cucurella had been inverting, it would have left Saka enough space to be at his best and use that to his advantage, that’s why Cucurella had to stick with Saka, and Gusto was left with the task of inverting, but unfortunately Gusto as always was wasteful in that postion, all we need is someone who can do that effectively, if we had a player who could do that effectively, I can tell you for sure we would be winning most of these big games.

Moresca needs to play Palmer on the right side since he was out of the game by Partey. Pedro Neto is a baller and White had a tough time stopping him and Chelsea could have won if Gusto took his chances. Should have brought Nkunku much earlier to affect the game and Arsenal could have won it at the end if Trossard buried it but it would have been offside anyways when Saliba was standing in an offside position. With that game Arsenal can forget about winning the Premier League title. It's top 4 or bust now.

I can’t believe how the press is gushing over Chelsea. We are only 1 point above 9th place in the table, but 9 points behind Liverpool. I can’t see any signs of improvement in our defence or in the balance of the team, and Maresca makes some questionable decisions. He loves playing players out of position and his in-game management rarely impact the game. Remember, we win our last five games last season. Yes, there’s cause for optimism, but let’s stop the over-hype, we are miles off being a top team, and are closer to being g in the mid-table pack. Drawing with a poor Arsenal and poor Man Utd sum it up. If we had beaten them, then we could have raved.

More like fortunate for celsee to get the equalizer.. they look good in mid of pitch but clueless in final third.. also bad defending gave arsenal the goal.. several times arsenal got big chances but no goal.. the problem of arsenal is not taking their chances more frequently while having defensive lapse during last 20 minutes when olayers are getting tired.. in their penalty box arsenal is good defensively but midfield need to react faster and put more pressure on the opponent in their own half

@@zorenwhite7886 if you carefully look at both goals then you'll know which one is more likely to be a goal.. the probabilities of both goals is quite different.. martinelli scored inside the box in 1 vs 1 against the keeper while Neto shoot from outside the box without anyone putting pressure on him where Gabriel can block this shot if it's meant to be blocked.. the quality of chances are different.. if you shot 30 times but no goal it's mean that the chances isn't good enough or the finisher is not prolific.. so stats is a lie if you look at things carefully.. all this matches since we are human are based on luck
