Small correction: Alun Evans was actually sold in June 1972 rather than January, but his last Liverpool appearance came in January.

I was 7 in 1972, Alun Evans was my favorite ... I always remember saying to my brothers "where is Alun" ... The answer was "Kevin Keegan is playing instead!" I felt the same in regard to Peter Cormack.

It's always terribly sad when opportunity, injury, timing, circumstance or otherwise leads to a talented player not fully realising their potential. Evans will always be rememberd fondly as an LFC player.
