A TANK on the Highway!

MikezJunk was the first one to say the freight was wind turbine blades, and BelieveNot explained that the shape is from two blades facing opposite directions.
KaptajnKaffe was the first to comment that the tank is not a tank, but a Howitzer, and Morris 1962 explained the difference.
Footage I took through my grimy car window. Tuesday-Thursday is still a little free-form right now, but I think on Fridays I'll be doing a science series, politics on the weekends and Music on Mondays. Thanks for all the new subs! 50 in the last 12 hours.

Realizalize, yes basically it is a howitzer that is permanently mounted to a tracked vehicle. It has very thin armor compared to an actual tank. But it can still fire directly at a target that it sees, known as direct fire, but this is very rare.

The 'tank' was an M109, from the US military. And it was not even a tank at all, but a mobile artillery piece. A tank is meant to fight directly against other tanks, vehicles, and infantry. An M109 however, mostly just lobs shells from a long distance away. Close enough for civilian work though. The hay, was specifically alfalfa, which is meant for livestock to eat. As opposed to straw hay which is for bedding.

The part at the bridge, that is Arizona to Nevada. I'm from Vegas, and I know that the bridge under construction is the bridge at the Hoover dam. The dam we share with our Arizona buddies.

Yep those are wind turbine Blades. They are actually doubled up so they look like they are hourglass shaped, but really they come apart as 2 blades and have a big end and a pointy end. The gears on the big end are so during a storm or excessive winds, the blades can be turned 90 degrees so they wont be ripped apart.

Its called a vertical axis wind turbine. Not sure though that seems much more bulkier so I am not sure but the general idea is that it is spiraled and as the wind blows on the vertical angled blades it causes them to spin.

Yeah... as others have said, they are windmill blades... two on each car. They come through here on trucks all the time. It's actually a little scary how many of these are going up, and how little awareness of it there is.

Those are blades for a power generating windmill. There is 2 per train car, so its a bit confusing to look at. The gears are to change the angle of the blades to maximize power generation abilities. As for the bridge, thats no a suspension bridge. Those overhead cables are a special type of crane that they are using to build the bridge. The discovery channel did a special on building those cranes.

They now make wind turbines that have no real "fan" blades they are built into the sides. So yeah turbines sound like the right thing to me.

OK you seriously dont know I havent read any of the precomments at all i know exactly what those are. Those are Wind mill blades for giant motorized wind mills, some in wyoming some in arizona and yes some millatary use them as well as citizens. The motors are GINORMOUS they have to be hauled in 34 foot trailers each pivoting wher it needs, more tires carry more weight. That is your answer to the what are they conundrum!!! Your welcome!!
