My dad has his own health issues; he's not in a position to give the high level of care my mom needs. I'm not quite in Hollywood; it's the Wilshire area. When I came here a few months ago I stayed with Shay a few days in Venice and found this place on Craigslist.

OSX recognizes any mic plugged into USB. What you need if you have a conventional mic (XLR cable) is a converter. You can get what's called an interface, a box that will take multiple mics and combine them into one USB; Retails around $200. Or, the Blue company makes 1-mic only converter called an Icicle for around $60. That's what I have.

It's hard dealing with people who have alzheimer's. I know this personally. My grandmother suffers from it and I haven't even seen her since its gotten worse. My older brother used to always see her and this time she didn't even know who he was. He had his baby daughter with him and the only reason she allowed a picture to be taken was for the baby. Its sad, but its life.
