I was at that gig where Dirty Three opened for Pavement in Melbourne. It was at a venue called the Prince of Wales. The Dirty Three were like this revered Melbourne band we just all dearly loved. So to see them open for Pavement was wild. Great times. I was like 18 or 19

@@FunRunEndsInTragedy yeah it really was. It’s so weird cause now I’m remembering it. Warren Ellis wore this amazing pink bomber jacket which looked amazing! And I totally forgot about it but for like the last 2 days I’ve been thinking about a pink bomber jacket and that I should get one haha!

@lex3191 sounds to me like the universe is telling you to get a pink bomber jacket, what's more, I agree with it. We ignore these messages at our peril (and our credit cards, obviously, but let's not talk of earthly concerns.)

Stained Glass Harmony probably refers to the Wild Honey album cover, which was a piece of stained glass in Brian Wilson’s house at the time

Regarding the name of the band, I recently read Rachel Kushner's collection of essays titled 'The Hard Crowd,' which, as it turns out, she took from the lyrics of the Cream song "White Room." So the band name The Hard Quartet caught my eye in a way it might not have before reading Kushner's book.

The shots of Emmet are framed in a really cinematic way, looking up at him. The light is perfect. Makes it seem like he's the leader of the band or something, though I get the feeling there is no "leader".

Me and a mate jumped a fence into the motel area after a pavement gig in Perth. We strolled into Stephens room where the band was lying on beds just talkin after a gig. Dunno what tf we were thinking but we grabbed some beers outta their fridge and kinda had this awkward few minutes of being uninvited guests. Then we left. Sorry mate. *my friend kept thst bottle of beer ( empty) for probably 20 years.
