The city of Chicago, which hosted the 2024 Democratic convention, is home to the highest concentration of Palestinian Americans in the United States. In the suburbs of the city, residents of Bridgeview - known as "Little Palestine" - have been hard hit by Israel's war on Gaza, which has killed over 40,200 Palestinians. We take a tour of Little Palestine, where Palestinian flags and signs reading "Free Palestine" adorn many of the streets and businesses, and traditional pastry and coffee shops have colorful murals of Palestinian landscapes on their walls. And we speak with residents about how they are organizing against anti-Palestinian racism and pushing for an end to uncritical U.S. support for Israel.
Democracy Now! is an independent global news hour that airs on over 1,500 TV and radio stations Monday through Friday. Watch our livestream at democracynow.org Mondays to Fridays 8-9 a.m. ET.

@@davidabode5895 to be honest with you, overtime I started to think the Israeli Intelligence already knew about the attack coming and let it happen. Just like 911. It’s crazy if you realize how governments work and how they plan out a war and how to justify it. Even go to an extent of sacrificing their own innocent people. Very Evil indeed.

The Democrats ought to be taking this a lot more seriously... clearly, they think that communities such as these will still vote for them to keep Trump out, but it would certainly send a strong message by remaining uncommitted and show the Democrats that from this point onwards, they need to hold Israel to account

Yeah, I'm ALL IN FAVOUR of a Free Palestine, so these unassimilable interlopers can return to their ethno-cultural-religious dominion, instead of undermining America's (and also Britain/France/Scandinavia/etc, etc) culture. Below, is something for you to contemplate, which follows on from ANOTHER Islamic extremist murdering three people, and seriously wounding five others in Solengin, yesterday - and throw in the aborted attack on Taylor Swift in Vienna two weeks ago. Islam, is a religion stuck in the Dark Ages, it's socially oppressive: and the woman with its headscarf on is proof of this subjugation. ************************************************* Between March 11, 2004, in Madrid, and October 17, 2021, there were more than 30 terrorist attacks perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists, which culminated with 610 innocent people being slaughtered, and more than 3200 maimed, by Muslim terrorists in the name of Allah. Just to mention a few of these heinous attacks occurred in: London on July 7, 2005; the beheading of Drummer Rigby in 2013, Bataclan, in 2015, Manchester in 2017, and Niece in 2018. But in spite of the gross degrees of barbarism that ensued in this Reign of Terror, governments in Britain, France and other countries in western Europe have been stupid enough to allow more Muslims to immigrate into these societies, from Islamic states. Examples of where there is now great regret for the stupidity of allowing Muslims to be given asylum are Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. With regards to Sweden, a friend of mine who returned there after a thirteen-year hiatus to visit family. And when he got off the train at Malmo, he was, “shocked to find about 20 percent of everyone he saw moving about the town centre were in hijabs. And at least 40 percent of all the people I observed were non-Europeans. In a few instances I saw three groups of round 50 people in different spots on their hands and knees praying to Allah”. But if the Reign of Terror implemented across Britain, and western Europe by Islamic fundamentalists wasn’t horrific enough in the same timeframe Muslims have murdered in excess of 8,000 in inter-sectarian debauchery. Over the past two years there have been a total of five attacks by a Muslim on White folks who were all minding their own business in France, and Italy. And just 6 days ago police arrested two youths who were planning to “blow up and kill as many people as possible at a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.” So, with Islamic barbarism, whether it’s against White non-Muslims, or with murdering each other in sectarian upheavals, it’s beyond belief that the leaders of Britain, and France do nothing to end importing people from a religion, and culture who are unassimilable into Western societies. Perhaps, the only way that Starmer, and Macron will be able to realise how dangerous Islam is to their societies is by virtue of them, or close family members becoming victims of terrorism.

The Palestinians attacked people from all walks of life, young women from German, simple farm hands from Thailand and Nepal. The whole free and civilised world supports Israel. No act of defense would include genocide, impunity and starvation for the common people. That is not justice. The policies of netanyahu has failed to bring peace and what hamas is doing in retaliation is only helping further his bigger agenda which is to prevent sovereignty for palestinians or bring peaceful resolutions and coexistence. The underlying issue is occupation. Oct 7 was one of the many acts of violence that occured. None less senseless. The previous wars like of 2014, many gazans were attacked and shared the same feeling of loss. Today settlers harass people in west bank to drive them out of their homes. Descendants of holocaust survivors denounced such acts. This cruel violent dynamic does not work to create better conditions for anyone. It demoralizes people to do unfathomable acts of desperation while dehumanizes another. They are stuck in this cycle.

Between March 11, 2004, in Madrid, and October 17, 2021, there were more than 30 terrorist attacks perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists, which culminated with 610 innocent people being slaughtered, and more than 3200 maimed, by Muslim terrorists in the name of Allah.

No; They were Theocratic. Hamas seized power shortly after the assassination of Yasau Arafat. They were a political party that twenty years ago Israel said: Hamas is the future of Positive Palestinian Israeli relationships. Then occupational military action spiked in the early 2000s. This event radicalized the Gaza strip further. Once security and law enforcement only funded certain wealthy Palestinians. Other poor and working class citizens were under heavy oppression and recruitment by force by Hamas. Remember; Israel stopped all smuggling of weapons into Gaza in the early 90's. So; all weapons are controlled by two groups; Hamas and Israel, so innocent people are caught in between a terrorist group who wants revenge, and a military occupation apartheid that wants to excommunicate them and rule! This is the civilian people's dilemma. They all do not vote in the same districts for leadership. Gaza,Rafah, Kahn Younis all have separate political leadership under the Palestinians umbrella of the PLO. Palestinian Authority. Or; should I say, no Authority. They have had their entire state funding seized by Israelis, governing law enforcement body. More 600 million dollars of funding has been stopped by U.N. backed sanctioned. Palestine is a rogue state that threatens peace. This is what they say! No; EVERYONE in Palestine did not vote for Hamas. Hamas took over in low security, lack of National recognition and respect. Two key moves that allow bad groups to rule.
