(September 2012) This was one of my first meetups with Jeff. This was in a restricted area at Virginia Tech and an employee was nice enough to let us check out these freight elevators that are basically dumbwaiters

Reminds me of the kitchen freight elevators at both the Grant and Stevenson towers residence halls at NIU in which they disabled the inside COP which made them essentially a dumb waiter

I was theorizing these were gonna get modernized soon because only one elevator was working and itll be hard for the building owner to come by replacement parts to fix the broken one because they oviouselly dont make this sort of thing anymore
