I was trying to think back and remember the first time I saw JP live as well as the opening act, I'm pretty certain it was 1984 Defenders of the faith with Great White. After that I haven't the slightest idea how many times I've seen them since, it's been a lot especially if you include Halford solo stuff and the Ripper years plus October 25th of this year.
@matthewpalm7484 Жыл бұрын
@@irocitZ I saw them for the first time just two weeks ago in Moline, huge Priest nerd but unfortunately born too late to truly see them in their prime. Luckily Rob put on one hell of a show still, and Ritchie had no problem keeping up
@irocitZ Жыл бұрын
@@matthewpalm7484 it's always pretty cool when someone younger finds a band like JP, I saw them twice on this tour. I was up close both times, I'm still blown away how good they sound. Did Glen Tipton come out at the show you were at? I have a feeling KK will be back at some point, at least I hope he will. If that happens that will be very close to the classic lineup, definitely go see that.

@@PaulMappud I'm more shocked that despite the entire band (including Glenn) more than giving their blessing to Richie to do what he does there are still fans out there who think they know better lol. This guitar duelling gone now, don't get it. Isn't any priest guitarist expected to be a shredmaster? Don't underestimate Andy, a nice guy and super intelligent, I used to trade tapes with him back in the day. Also he has been playing huge stages since a teenager, the live experience when doing someting that big is what separates amatuers and pros. But give him space to play or find someone that can -like me even !
@absc80602 жыл бұрын
A plus is clearly audible. And I have big doubts that Rob sings all this live, especially the high notes. It started with the Firepower tour. Here and there a slight out of sync or studio is noticeable. I really hope that this is nothing more than a way to improve the quality a little, and Rob did not start doing such things in his old age.

That's just copious amounts of echo and reverb to make it sound fuller than it really is. It's not prerecorded, if it were it would have been identical between gigs, which it isn't. You can easily compare this version with Bloodstock, for instance. The truth is, he goes full on falsetto on those bits these days and it would sound weak without the effects.
