There is a rescue and rehabilitation centre near where I live (south east England) and some of the horses don’t allow anyone else near - but they’ll let an autistic person hug them. It’s a beautiful sight to see the horses have so much trust in humans thy can tell would never harm them 🫶🏻

Rules for the Kings Guards are simple constant vigilance and watching for threats. they may speak but not hold conversations. They need to focus on their duties which are usually to just look impressive. Woe betide anyone actually threaten one, as they are professional soldiers protecting the palace and occupants, civilians are a third valued group after King and fellow soldiers. Ask a single question and be polite about it and they'll reply. Pester them with questions and they'll ignore you for being a distraction, possibly to aid others to sneak past or something.

I hope the guard isn't disciplined for this. Allowing those who have jobs as serious as his should be allowed the leeway to make small decisions like this. Allowing them to use their judgement that this girl was no threat, and could be extended some amount of humanity is good for everyone. It shows the public that palace recognises the humanity of their guard and the general population. It allows the guard to express their own humanity, and not feel terrible for being forced to make this little girls day worse for no real reason. And it also instils faith in the population that these guard can be trusted not to abuse their power and blindly wield it without thought.

His response was very kind. I do believe that is the first time I have ever seen a Royal Guard respond to a Civilian. I hope he doesn’t get in trouble for that. Regulations for them are extremely harsh.

Remember, horses look away as a sign of kindness. It is their way of signaling to eachother they are not a threat. They have 360° sight range.she is perfectly safe.

That was the most American sounding "yes" ever... so we're those sirens.😆 The USA might be getting its first King... I mean I hope not BUT if we do.. maybe you could send some kings guards over. Jamie Lanaster will do.. he likes taking out mad kings. 😆🤣😂
