I thought your round was great until I saw 2023 and my god the improvement is unreal! It's so nice to be able to see the contrast. He just looks so confident now and he didn't mind any changes in pace, it was all very consistent and smooth! Well done to you both, but especially you for keeping going through all the harder times.

My mare is so much like Ember the canter - its literally took us a year and a half to develop the canter to be more ridable and less enthusiastic still not yet entirely there (and she's a dressage horse not even jumping😬). Well done Lucy horses like this are written off so quickly but your time, patience and perseverance are paying off and he will love you forever for taking the time to understand him and help him understand what is expected of him x Not easy at all!

I honestly never thought you would be able to get such an onward bound thoroughbred who jumped literally like a stag into a more rideable, sensible version whose now able to jump in a much better shape. The last time you wore the GoPro I wouldn't have gotten on that horse for money LOL. This time? I wished I were there! He's come a LONG way. I know you were out of breath, but you weren't desperately begging for control--he seemed much more rideable. And we got to see his nice neck this time instead of his ears slamming back into the camera LOL. Seeing him actually cantering FORWARD, rather than up and down, and without constantly swapping leads is a MASSIVE improvement. He still needs to learn to use his neck and really bascule over fences--he's coasting on his talent LOL. More gymnastics!! But WOW. What a great way to end the season. 🙂

Lucy that was so brilliant being on the GoPro with you! Please do that more often. I loved it. I felt quite exhausted by the end 😂😂😂 What a difference in your boy from last year. I could tell while you were going round the course that you seemed not to be fighting with him, and it was amazing that you were able to slow him down, and that you stopped him so easily at the end of the course. Watching back the two videos you can see the big difference between now and then. All that training and hard work is paying off. He's so brave too! Those tricky jumps he just sailed over. I thought the ditch and palisade at the end was HUGE but he just sailed over, you giving a whoop! I had hoped you'd end up in the first three, but still, you were placed and that is fantastic. Well done to you both 💝💝💝

Wow! Ember and you both continue to make such good progress together! I started watching your vlogs in the beginning of your partnership, and I’ll admit that I had my doubts about Ember. But you’ve done a fabulous job with him! NO clue how you see over that high bibbing head, but you do. Looks like he goes like a rocking horse. But he has gotten SO much braver…that ditch palisade he was like “just hang on Mom, I got this!” His jumping technique has improved by leaps and bounds as well. Very impressive round by both of you! I definitely can’t wait to see more! 😍 P.S.- how are you able to ride him XC without gloves?? I can’t even hack one of my quiet horses without gloves. I have a hard time keeping my reins from slipping. Back when I did show jumping full time, I used rrally grippy rubber reins, so my hot horses couldn’t yank the reins through my hands. Now I’m doing hunters over fences (yes, I’m in America), and we have to use plain or braided reins. They can be a bit slippy! The plus side is when I miss a distance to a jump and get left behind, I can easily slip my reins so that I avoid yanking my horse in the mouth 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wet saddle blankets are made by winners.....speaking from experience from years ago. I'm 77 now and retired riding at age 66. Can't ride with an oxygen tank 😢. Farmers lung, from too much dust 😢
