Great stuff! My girlfriend and I stayed in Ollantaytambo last year after our visiting Machu Picchu. We loved that town and want to go back again soon!

Cool video Gabriel, you are also close to Choquequirao, that was discovered a few years ago and the New York Times called it "The Other Machu Picchu". There are many treasuries to see in Peru.

Oh wow, this is crazy! I've just arrived in Ollantaytambo and was searching through your videos to get some ideas on what to do first - only to see that I'm sitting in the exact same hotel, in the exact same room you're in at the beginning of the video!! Spooky! :)

Awesome video! I'm Peruvian living in Japan for 11 years and I was very thrilled to watch this. Got to this video from your other account Gabriel Kundalini and I'm taking notes for when I travel there. I'm planning to go to Bali soon so I'd like to know if there's a good place to stay there. Any suggestions? Good work in both channels by the way! Namaste

Cool, thanks Ana. I have some Bali videos as well. Here´s one of a guesthouse where I stayed in Ubud: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJbIhWmpja6orLM And try to check out the Gili islands if you want some relaxing beach time. I went to Gili Air which was quite nice, here´s my video from there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4jYqnqEYqtqhKM Have an awesome time, definitely an awesome place to visit!

+Gabriel Traveler Great! Thanks a lot!! By the way, if you're planning to stay a few more days, I'll recommend to go to Cajamarca which is north. Lots of things to see, nice waterfalls, spring waters, beautiful architecture as well as landscapes. Hope you're enjoying your time in Peru. Have fun!

Great video. Near the end of the video you are explaining about the trails, below you is what looks like some kind of circular theatre or a place for a market? Seems to have layers for people to sit on? Do you know what this is?! :)

Hmm, I didn't notice that at the time I guess. Not sure what that's about.

That's what I thought too, but it seems too small for bull charges etc. I reckon it's to do with animals...

I think it's a redondel for horse training, if you google image those things it looks like that. My best guess.

love the place where you at but You've never lost?. Those streets look so similar and like a little labyrinth. Cool!.
@GabrielTravelerVideos9 жыл бұрын
It´s a very small town, hard to get lost there, but I did get lost when I was exploring the backstreets of Cusco because it´s a bigger area of winding lanes.

Do you make your reservations for these places you stay before getting there or do you just sort of look around for them?
@GabrielTravelerVideos8 жыл бұрын
I usually book ahead of time online, I use Hostelworld.com, booking.com and agoda.com mostly.

"The Inca was busy decorating (his domain) with great buildings. It was because of his command that the superb fortress was built, which was begun by his father and that way were the palaces of Tambo built the ruins of which still exist"- Father Bernabe Cobo -1653 "the buildings...the INCAS turned into fortresses, temples, into roads...were many and required excessive work as evidenced today by the ruins and remains left in Cuzco, in Tiahuanaco and in Tambo (Ollantaytambo)- Father Jose Acosta XVI century chronicle

You got me Gabe. I made a reservation for May 13-16. It's the weekend of the festival celebrating Señor de Choquekillka, patron saint of Ollantaytambo. Should be another BIG time in Ollanta. I haven't been able to find what festival you are observing now, unless it is something leading up to Nov 1st which is All Hallows Day. BTW, have you learned any Quechuen greetings? Aren't the Inca Quarries up that trail?
@GabrielTravelerVideos9 жыл бұрын
YES, I think I discovered the Inca quarries in the course of the hike today, or at least rocks that came from it. Working on that video but not sure when I'll get the chance to upload it, as I'm on the move again tomorrow....I never did find out anything about the festival, I think it might have been something local as opposed to a national holiday but I really don't know. Not many local English speakers around here.

+Hoz Holla The most important event in Cusco is the reenactment of Inti Raymi, or the sun festival, a colourful celebration of the winter solstice that is the most important Incan holiday, which is celebrated every year on June 24th.
